Well alcohol has no positive effects for the most part and is purposly abused constantly. So what do you think.

here's a half-thought: tobacco is legal, abused, and causes death - FACT! but is still legal? so what if steroids were legalized? what would be the difference?

The difference would be, you'd have to pay tax on it. You're gonna die one day anyhow, so who gives a fuck. How long do you want to live?

Your question is a little too simple because obviously you need a lot more alcohol to do any damage to the body than AAS. However, clearly alcohol is responsible for an enormous amount of deaths and shattered lives in this country while AAS health problems hardly register with society. You are much more likely to die instantly from alcohol poisoning than AAS abuse, I have never heard of someone accidently overdosing on AAS and dying.

For bodybuilders, diuretics are more dangerous than alcohol. These have been the compounds that have caused sudden death incertain professionals.

On the other hand, long term moderate alcohol usage versus what we think as long term moderate AAS use, the AAS has a more profound effect on the body / endocrine system.

This is a very long debate if it is to be fully analysed...

depends on how the aas are being used, and how the alcohol are being used..a. too broad of a question.

Long Term moderate alcohol usage is responsible for brain shrinkage. A recent study found brain shrinkage in moderate drinkers..defined as dring 7-14 drinks a week. The fluid sacs in the brain incresed in size but the tissue shrank. They were compared with non drinkers.

Don't believe AAS usage has 1 % of the bad effects of alcohol usage or abuse. Alcohol destroys muscle and the cumulative effect is that most heavy drinkers kill their livers and hearts by their 50's. Never seen an alcoholic who wasn't bloated and in obvious heart stress..or emaciated and scrawny.

Alcohol raises estrogen levels in the body and thus encourages cancer growth as well as many undesirable effects.

everything is harmful for you if not done in moderation.
