  • Nathan DeAsha Uses Court Delay To Compete In The Mr O

Nathan DeAsha was supposed to be sentenced today along with Richard Green but is competing for the Mr Universe title in Las Vegas instead

A gym owner was jailed today for buying £10,000 worth of steroids from a top bodybuilder - who is currently competing to be Mr Universe in Las Vegas. Richard Green was sentenced at Exeter Crown Court today after buying the drugs from Liverpool man Nathan DeAsha.

DeAsha, 33, pleaded guilty in July to dealing the illegal anabolic steroids which Green then sold out of his Pain and Gain gym in Devon.

Significant amounts of the steroids were found when police raided the gym in August 2017 while investigating an unrelated drugs case. A sender’s address on the package led officers to alert colleagues in Liverpool , where DeAsha runs his own body building studio.

DeAsha, who calls himself The Prophecy, was also due to be sentenced alongside Green today but was allowed leave of absence because his defence barrister could not make the hearing date. He used the delay to travel to America for one of the biggest events in bodybuilding, which takes place next weekend. He qualified for the prestige contest by winning the British Grand Prix in June and is one of the highest rated competitors.

In his absence, Green was jailed for four and a half years for making thousands of pounds selling cocaine and ecstasy as well as peddling £10,000 worth of steroids to the customers at the gym. Five months of his sentence was for selling on the steroids he originally bought off DeAsha.

The police investigation started when Richard Green was stopped by police in August 2017 with 306 ecstasy tablets and £2,300 cash in his car. Searches uncovered 30 grams of cocaine worth £1,500 in a lockup, the steroids and cash at the gym and lists of customers who owed them money at their home. Green is also a former body builder and self confessed steroid user who called himself Mr Iron Man on social media.

That would have to be something that's weighing heavy on your mind. How he could focus 100% for the Mr O is beyond me....
