It's about age and the level of drugs needed to improve at that level. He would only be harming himself to improve from 20th place to 18th place the following year. All for what? He's already shown the world he was one of the best ever back in the 90's.

I think we can all agree that he is NOT on moderate/healthy doses of drugs. To continue that at 52 is simply foolish.
