Ronnie had been competing a good while before he shot up in 98. He faced a new challenge as a legacy of Dorians step changes he imparted and it required heavy duty approach. Arguably he was forced to undertake the most grueling and punishing mission to get on top and stay on top.

Exactly, I don't get the down pat comments. He's fixing himself and it will take time to heal particularly as he's older but the fact he's taking the ops means he wants to fix.

The man has no regrets. He put it all on the table and succeeded. He can be proud of what he accomplished knowing he put in the work that it takes to be a champion. So many guys in this world feel like they never reached their potential...Ronnie doesn't have to feel that.

Then why did he say talking about his heavy squats post surgery that he wished he did more reps on that like 800lb squat cause he knew he had it in him. He might be pissed off at his girl or have to take a shit or he is pissed he didn't get a chance to eat yet when that pic was taken. Watching his interviews he doesn't seem broken, he seems optimistic to me.

Because he has to say that. He either doesn't understand the damage he did or his ego won't allow it. Saying what he said makes him even more of a legend to people who can't see past this bs. I guarantee that when he's sitting there in his chair alone at night in massive fucken pain he has regrets. Anyone that doesn't think he has regrets hasn't experienced chronic pain.
