The comet and the moon

Got to photograph Comet Neowise a few nights ago.

Also got a nice shot of the moon last night.

You got them shots with all the light pollution of SoCal?

What kind of gear does it take to get shots of the moon that clear?

I drove about 20 miles into the Angeles National Forest to get far enough away from city lights to get the comet shot.

The moon shot was from my backyard.

Here is what my camera and lens look like. That's a 500mm lens with a extender and a crop camera. Total effect field of view equivalent to 1150mm.
