  • SuperiorMuscle Attacked by Hackers & Bots 24/7

The amount of attacks our little site gets hit with day and night is just crazy. To think that for years we ran just fine with almost no security service or firewall in place shows just how much more "dangerous" the internet has become in terms of keeping a site online and safe from hacks/ddos attacks.

If we had gotten hit with any one of these just a few months ago we would have been offline for weeks. Now we take hundreds and sometimes thousands of attacks per day without so much as breaking a sweat.. :D

Here is just a small example of what we've been hit with in the last few hours. Each one of these is a malicious attack looking for any vulnerability. We've had to implement a ton of time and resources (firewalls and security software) to get to the point where these constant attacks no longer have any effect on us. I cannot imagine what the massive sites like amazon and facebook have to deal with. Must be billions of attacks per day.

Can you tell from the IP addresses who these people are? I looked up one of the Chinese ones and I am wondering if it is worth escalating to their management and shutting down the user?

Nah they are well hidden behind proxies and vpn's etc...

Lot of the times they are hijacked computers from innocent people who have no idea a trojan is inside their system and being used like a zombie to send DDOS attacks.

Not that this has much to do with SM lol. But I think it speaks to the massive increase and danger in cyber attacks taking place. It's an escalation for sure.

Microsoft says it took down 94% of TrickBot's command and control servers

TrickBot survived an initial takedown attempt, but Microsoft and its partners are countering TrickBot operators after every move, taking down any new infrastructure the group is attempting to bring up online.
