Most of you won't need any of this for a very long time, if ever. Just thought I'd give those of you who may be interested in this sort of thing some info. Although I've been training for over 25 years and have a great body for my age, 10% bf at 205 lbs-5'11" at age 56, but time and sun exposure, gravity, etc. took it's toll and my body was too much for my face, so I decided to fix my face the only way I could--surgery. I selected Dr. Tom Roberts in Spartanburg, SC, who has done an "extreme makover" for FOX network and is currently doing another for the Doscovery Channel--he's tops on the east coast. Anyway, I had a facelift, browlift, necklift, lipo cheeks, jowls and neck and had cheek bones enhanced. Upper and lower eyelids corrected. Chin augmentation, basically, anything you can do to a face, except lip enhancement. I had a deviated septum that he had to correct before he straightened my nose which i've broken 7 times over the years in various ways. The nose surgery alone took 10 hours, plus another 10 hours for the other procedures. YUP 20 HOURS ON THE OPERATING TABLE. After two weeks, I am still swollen quite a bit, but it's going down daily. I have most all stitches removed, (they do them in your hairline and behind your ears so you can't see them). This is where they stretch the excess skin for removal for the facelift and the neck lift. The browlift is taken upwards to the top of your front hairline. They took some photos after the surgery was done before the swelling started, and I am very happy with the way I looked. I just hope it turns out that way after all the swelling has subsided. HOW MUCH? Daaayyyyuuummm. He's gone up 20% in the last 18 months, due mainly to these "makeover" programs. After all is said and done, this surgery should turn the clock back about 15 years, still old to most of you babies, lol. My cost was right at $40,000. I know, I know, it's a wad of cash and most of you can't relate yet and I hope you never show your age, but if you do later in life, believe me, you will really consider it. Just thought I'd give you some interesting reading. If you'd like to check out his website, go to www.faceandfigure.com, you'll be amazed, especially the before and after of a 55 year old womans butt. I swear after the surgery, her butt looked like a 25-30 year old's. Peace out---BB

I'm very happy for you, bonebreaker! I'm 37 and I've already had a breast lift, I'm planning on a tummy tuck next. I think plastic surgery is a wonderful thing, it sure helps the fight against gravity as we get older! :)
Good luck in your recovery. It takes some time for all of the swelling to go away. My mom had her eyes done last year and it made world of difference for her...she's in her mid-60's. If she could afford it, she'd have more work done.

that's amazing. i can't believe you had so much done to you, but all the power to you if it will make you happy. Scarring and swelling will go down eventually, but it can be frustrating when you get it done cause you want results right away. i saw this one girl who had just a nose job and looked a hundred times better, she was probably in her early twentys, but still! amazing. once you heal some more you should post some before and after pictures. it'd be interesting to see the transformation, even at this stage.

As soon as I get back to square one and all healing is done, I will post a before and after--It's totally amazing. Only problem is that in the last two weeks have lost 10 good rock hard pounds and can't lift for 6 weeks--4 more to go. hopefully the Doc will at least let me ride my lifecycle at the end of this week. Thanks all for your comments. BB
