  • Has anyone been skydiving

I am thinking of makeing the jump but wanted some feed back. I have never been in a plan but i want to jump from one.

I've never done it but if I had the money I wouldn't think twice.

Yeah i have done it. It was a tandem jump. I paid $150. I spent about 1 hour in classroom study and on ground preperations and then we hopped on the plane and got going. we were about 2 miles up when me and frank (my gay tandem jump partner) did a gainer out of the side of this plane. CRAZY! then for about 35 seconds we free falled. it was very surreal. didnt really feel like you were 2 miles up and dropping fast. my guy kept talking and i wanted him to shut the fuck up so i could just enjoy the moment. After pulling the rip cord, we parachuted down for about 5 mintues. it was awesome and worth every penny. i hope to do a solo jump one of these days but the wifey isnt too thrilled on that idea.

Had several jumps in the military, static line and freefall....one of the best rushes in the world. I still do it once or twice a summer for recreation. I jumped over in Hawaii last year during vacation...talk about a view.

You're way way too high up to even be afraid, you have no perception of the fact that you are 14000 feet off the ground. Its more scary being 100 feet off the ground looking over the edge of a building than it was looking out the door of the plane....btw I'm not afraid of heights but I get this killer rush when I get up off the ground a little ways, I live for that feeling.

I've jumped three times tandem all three. I was wanting to go solo the third time but I didn't have time for the classroom stuff and money was a little tight at the time too. It's a helluva a ride. Freefall was no doubt the most free feeling I've ever experienced in my entire life.

Ive been jumping for almost 10 years now. Skydiving is definately worth the money. You will never experience anything else close to it. Like someone said above, it is a different feeling then just simply being scared of heights. Take for example when you jump off of a diving board into water..........you can see the water rush up at you. When you skydive and jump out of the plane nothing happens until you get to about 6 thousand feet or so. The only thing that happens is it gets really loud. You are so high up that the ground doesnt rush up at you for awhile. A lot of times you are above the clouds so you cant see much anyways. Just try it.

Closest thing Ive come to doing was hang gliding, off some monster cliff in Brazil...scary as hell at first, but definatly worth the rush
