Maybe plan a special occasion out on the town for the "roomies"? Everyone get gussied up and smelling pretty.

He may feel better about himself getting all cleaned up and it could be the start of something.

If that didn't work I'd go with what Mrs P suggested. It's probably go over better if one of the guys did it though. If he's depressed about woman he may perceive it as another slight coming from you.

Although this is true, it sounded kind of funny how you wrote it. lol

But in all seriousness, the way you are going to do it, sounds pretty casual and sweet. I dont think being mean to him will work as you mentioned he is depressed.
If he is depressed that he cant get girls, showering will definetely impede that even more so...so just tell him nicely and when he's smelling good and all, take him out with your friends if you can.
I feel sorry reading this because I have a cousin who is really obese and he reeks of shit all the damn time. Sweetest kid, but what do you say to a 14 year old that his friends or bullies havent said already ya know?
I would say your approach is best :)
      Goog luck with that

Ok so I had a talk with him. He was saying how he doesn't have luck with women, so I asked, "do you ever wear cologne?" he said no. I told him I love the way my boyfriend smells and I know he really likes the ralph lauren perfume I have. I said something like, "it's my signature scent." he replied, "My signature scent is probably cats and cigarettes." I said, "yeah, that's not going to pull in too many women." And I joked about how his feet smell awful (a fact we all openly discuss) so he should keep his shoes on around women he's trying to impress. I got up to get a drink, and when I came back, he said, "So, basically you're saying I smell bad." I said, "Well, I didn't mean it quite so harshly." That was the end of our conversation, 2 days ago.

That night he went home and washed his bedsheets. The next morning, he showered and was wearing Polo Sport cologne. Tonight, he smelled good (Polo Sport) and I made a point of complimenting him on it.

I think it hurt his feelings a little to point out, but I did it as tactfully as I could and it seems he really got the hint.

quite tactful, but if you beat around the truth, whats the point in even bringing something up

even by the slim chance, you hurt his feelings a bit, I bet hearing this from a female persective changed his out look ever so slightly on things. Will it stick, well hopefully, but from the sound of it, he has very dep rooted issues that need to be dealt with...not bathing for 2 weeks, is beyond abornmal

My other roommates have been trying that approach, too. They've taken him to a few parties and a female friend of his went out to dinner with him on Valentines Day. Good excuse to shower.;)

WOW 5 people living together? Hey gal, is it a house? I could only stand living with 3 people. I grew up that way, I would need my damn space, hey but you got your reasons, you gotta do what you have to do.

We all know the truth can hurt sometimes but I would want someone to tell me if I stunk!!! It's kind of like having to point out when someone has a booger or boogie hanging out their nose...it might be embarrassing to point it out but I would rather have one person see it and point it out than walk around with it all day!!!
