The other night I dropped something on my hand at work, wasnt hurting too bad till I got in, I took some advil, but the pain was keeping me awake, I did a couple of local injects of lidocaine..I think I may have hit the knuckle itself with the needle, its really fucking killing me now, the site is turning a bit red and puffy...could I have f'd myself up with the lidocaine? I have full range of motion, its just a lil stiff..and Im in no mood for the ER

Doom....my honey is a registered nurse....and she said that you may very well have caused an infection in the bone. A bone is the absolute WORST place to break sterility....infections spread through the marrow and are tough to kill. If the inflammation and pain continue, you will have to go to the ER despite your reservations about doing so.Comment

yea all the redness and swelling are gone, just a little pain from where the piece of metal cracked my hand...lucked out this timeComment

All is still well, I probably put too much damn lidocaine in there, and held some fluid for a while...its just sore now, no more inflamation...whew!Comment
