$2.09 here in Southeastern Ontario, Canada per gallon, after doing the math to convert litres to gallons and then accounting for exchange rate.

dang... at that rate it'll be cheaper in cali to buy foreign labor to just push your car... no offense to foreign laborers of course.

I can tell you that the rise in prices aren't making the gas station owners rich. They have a very low profit margin on fuel sales and rely on volume to make any cash. It's also not a rise in Sin Tax either, as I just watched part of the Senate hearings on the new Highway Bill- a large portion of gas taxes go to road construction/reconstruction. It is the suppliers who are cashing in bigtime right now. I urge you all to write to your local Congressman and complain, no make that BITCH heavily about it. Tell them to open an investigation on price fixing gas prices and you're absolutely pissed. You'll prove how pissed in November, if they don't do something about it now. It is an election year and most Congress members will fall all over themselves to at least open hearings and garner public approval on the matter. In fact, write your local senator as well. The more fervor, the better for the consumer. Here are links to find your local representatives:

Down here is the Mexican desert I get it for 50cents a gallon. JK LOL.

It runs from about $1.45-1.65 per gallon. It doesn't seem to really bother me. Except when I remember back a few years ago, even in the SUMMER gas as about $0.78 per gallon no shit. I do miss that.

Working in the oil tool industry...our business is keeping fairly steady and this year the ring counts for the U.S. and Gulf have increased some. Without getting to technical or getting into things I don't understand. They can get away with it now, so they are doing it. OPEC announced a few months ago that they were cutting back the amount of barrels they were producing as well. There is no shortage that I know of and Iraq is now pumping oil out of the country once again as far as I know.
