Lying and keeping secrets

What are your takes with lying and keeping secrets? Especially in the relationships with your friends, loved ones, spouses, family, etc.
I personally don't like constant liars or compulsive liars. I have a friend who I know is a compulsive liar but we're friends now because he finally put an end to his b.s. with his stories and etc. But sometimes i don't know whether he is still being truthful or not. We catch him on his b.s. now and then to set him straight on his undying need to be accepted.

Also with relationships, would you consider keeping something important to the relationship and to your significant other away from him/her lying? For example, sparing one's feelings isn't being truthful and open with one another, yes? And the odd act of confiding in somebody else for something thats important and not confiding in your partner, though not of requirement but out of respect maybe? But some would excuse their actions of not telling everything or anything not lying, which I believe it is. What are your takes on it?

Hmmm...I think it depends on the people in the relationship as to weather they can handle complete truths or not. There are very few things I don't tell my husband, and those things would just be to spare his feelings out of respect for him. Our relationship is solid enough to be able to be very truthful with one another from important things to just little things. As for family...I keep a lot of things secret from my family...they'd dis-own me otherwise! LOL

Compulsive liars...that is one thing I can't handle! That will end a friendship for me more quickly than anything else. It's funny that this subject is coming up today because I just got a pm from someone today who was taken in by the same compulsive liar that I warned her about a year and a half ago. I tried to warn her then just so she wouldn't get hurt too, but this chick is so good at her lies that I was made out to be the bad one. Funny though how in time the truth does always come out, unfortunately, people get hurt in the process. It was weird...we saw this girl lie to everyone else but we thought she was being truthful with us...we got taken badly. The girl has no remourse at all either. If there's a hell, she will burn for sure.

Someone once said "If you never lie you don't have to remember anything." That's so on the money. People who lie have to remember their lies whereas if you're just truthful from the start, you don't have to worry. :)

I just hate liars period......I wont tell a lie unless its to my wife.....does that count?

i never lie but if i hate the son of a bitch yes, j/k not even that. Always been loyal to everyone around me, i cannot be like that and keep it inside me that i lied to someone. That aint just me.:D
