Favorite Oxymorons

I was just watching an episode of friends and joey used an oxymoron. Starting making me think about how much they make you think. Here's the one:

"Oh, thats pretty ugly". makes no sense but I am guilty of saying things like this all the time.

I think this one is word confusion, where pretty I think is spelled diferently like predy or preedy

I believe that the "pretty" in Pretty Ugly is spelled pretty... according to an oxymoron site.

"Pretty" can also mean terrible, miserable, moderately, or to some degree...so "pretty ugly" wouldn't really be an oxymoron.

Not that this is something I already knew. You brought up an interesting point that I have thought about myself, so I decided to look this time.

I thought, though that if you say, "You've gotten us into a pretty mess" they were using the word pretty as an adjective.
