  • Snoring...

I have yet to meet a guy over 200lbs who doesn't snore like a banchee.....I admitt I do. Does anyone have any tried and true remedies(sp)? Besides the one where your wife kicks you until you stop. Oh yeah...laying on my stomach doesn't work anymore either.

look into getting a sleep study done. i have sleep apnea and snoring is a major indicator of your airway being blocked.
gaining weight always makes it worse. I have to get my CPAP machine adjusted everytime i "grow".

Until then, get your s/o a set of earplugs. It's somewhat helpful.

i have this same problem. funny you should mention the 200 lb thing as my problem started right when i crossed the 200 lb mark and has become worse the bigger i get. my wife is ready to kick me out over it, lol. she is an insomniac as it is, and my snoring certainly doesn't help. we got her some ear plugs, but those make her ears sore. the sleep study is not an option right now because we don't have insurance.

The sprays work!!! My man drives me batshit with his snoring and since he starting using it I havent had to beat on him in his sleep and tell him to turn the fuck over in a while.

Now they need to come up with one for dogs and I'll be set.....:D

Amen to that!! My beagle is the only one in the house who gives me comp.
What kind of spray does he use? Your husband, not the dog.

my wife is ready to kick me out over it, lol
You and I are in the same boat, bro!!

When/if you snore, it is a sign that you are not breathing properly/your airway is consticted. BB with big/thick necks collapse their own airways, thus causing difficulty breathing while you're sleeping. It is definitely something you should have taken care of. It can lead to so many other problems - high blood pressure being a major one.

i am not sure it only has to do with weight or muscle. for example, when i am real lean (now) i don't snore at all. i am still well over 200lbs. however if i put on a little fat and start eating a bit more"dirty" type foods i start to snore/get heart burn etc..

i think somehow diet and fat play a roll and not just weight.

Ya im looking into getting a mouth gaurd type thing, its supposed to bring your jaw forward which opens the airway up. Im using the spray at the moment but it doesnt seem to be doing much. It doesnt really bother me, more for my partner who cant sleep when it gets bad.
