Three years ago I bought a 53'' HDTV for $2k and a 4 yr service contract for $300. Well a few weeks ago the tv picture got a blurry so the tech came out, lokked at the tv, ordered some parts and he came today to install a new crt projector. As he was pulling the old one out, he spilled the coolant for the tubes on the circuit board. Job Done! Once that happens, you are screwed (technically speaking). So I went to Best Buy they gave me $2k in credit and I got a new 57" HDTV w/720p resolution (I can plug my computer into it). Sweet...bigger and better tv because the tech fucked up. I was amazed at the fantastic customer service, I am so used to getting the run around even w/warranties.

That amount of money and the fact that it is a large electronic device, there was not an option to not get the service contract. Electronics break at random much too often. It only takes one tiny bad solder on a circuit board and a chain reaction can happen down the road. I'm just amazed at the fact that they honored it COMPLETELY!!Last edited by blm; 03-25-04, 09:02 AM.
