I don't know the percentage of people reading this in California, or even San Diego area, but Rick Roberts on 760AM has a grass roots petition trying to increase the power of "Megan's Law" In California we are not able to see the picture of someone who is a sexual offender making it hard to know who to look out for in even your own neighborhood. They also want to make so a convicted sexual offender has to redo thier driver's licence or ID card every year instead of 4 or 5, making it easier to keep track of where they are at.

I think they should allow the childs faimly 10 min. with the person when they catch them. It will cut down on the jail population and they sure as hell won't be doing it again. Unfortunatly it doesn't work that way. My younger sister was raped by a guy I went to school with and when he was arrested there a court order put in place keeping me and my father from going with 1,000 of the jail or the court house. We coun't even go to the trial because this guy said he feared we would try and kill him.

He was right we would have.....

The law protects the criminals more then the victims and the petition is trying to change that.

I will start by saying obviously no one likes to see a child be molested or hurt but I would like to see their standards for considering a child molested. it is a very tough situation. I think because childeren are invovled. a lot of people hold child crimes higher than crimes commited towards adults. I will never understand that. a person is a person is a person. some will say that a child is defenseless but I know quite a few adults that can't take care of themselves as well. same goes for "hate" crimes. why is it worse if a white kills an asian than a white killing a white. just stupid to me. what are we suppose to do with molesters-there are only a few options- keep them in jail because we fear them to re-offend but we could say the same thing about murders or DWI people. we could keep them under electronic surveillance, I don't know if that would be effective but it would probably be expensive. my hope is that they come up with a biological and chemical solution to give these people. I remember one guy wanted to be kept in jail because he knew that he would reoffend but they couldn't do it. some of them can't help themselves it is a drive just like a normal male sex drive wants to have sex with every hot woman they see.

I am not defending them but is it for the mere fact that it is a child that is the victim. I for one feel sorry for the pedophile that can't help himself biologically be drawn towards childeren. sure...there are some who choose to hurt childeren and are just sick. but for most of them this is a disease that they cannot overcome. it will be solved with pharmacology in the future. but I for one would rather kill the husband who beats his wife because he knows better. or for the dumbass who keeps drinking and driving knowing he shouldn't...

you would rather kill the husband who beats the wife b/c he knows better.......so you are saying that a grown man who rapes a 2 year old doesnt know its wrong?

and not only that but in your scenario i would be just as mad at the wife who puts up with it as i would be towards the husband who does it.
the wife has a choice as hard a choice it may be for her to make, at least she has a choice.........the 2 year old does not have a choice.

you asked for clarification as to what exactly is considered a petophile??? How about the dude (in so cal) about a year and a half or so ago who took a little girl (maybe 9 years old) from her front yard, fucked her and killed her and left her body on the side of the road.........the guy who did it had previously molested two little girls of the woman he was dating and they let him off.........thats what this petition is about. Like you said its an incurrable disease right? so if its incurrable why on earth would anyone let that person back into society?

Just because some is sexually attacted to children doesn't mean they become people who rape them. While the attarction maybe be "biologically" (which hasn't been proven) contracted, people should still know better. I think environment is involved. Regardless, the any fucking rapist should be killed. You'll know what I mean after the polic call your house and tell you your child has been sexually attacked. Oh, and the best part, listen to when your daughter tells you the asshole was sit in her living room, watching a fucking video of your family vacation to Ireland. Who the fuck does that?!?! I've got a good example. Being gay I am attracked to guys, but that doesn't mean I go around rapping then and if I'm sick enough killing them. There had A LOT to do with how someone was raised and their brain chemistry. There have to be warning signs of this kind of thing(rapist). And IMO, that person should be watched carefully.

I asked for clarification because a lot of "groups" will use a very loose definition to make sure they can put numbers up that will draw attention. I agree that they should not be let back into society until we can control or cure them with drugs or neurosurgery.

Havin sex with a child is hurting them...My point was really that, I think that all rapists should be killed and that I don't think that it is nesc. based on genetics or biology, but other factors as well. I just tend to get a bit over zealous with shit I'm passionate about.
