    1-1 last nite. -$10

    tonites picks are:

    Alabama +1.5
Alabama vs Syrause......let's start out with a few trends....in the sweet 16, #5 Seeds are 4-24 SU and the #8 seed has won straight up in all three appearances in the Sweet 16 L5yrs. The 1 negative aspect is SEC teams are 3-8 SU (4-7 ATS) last five years.

Cuse def has the edge in tourney experience and that has showed big in their wins over BYU and a young Maryland team. Key to stopping the Cuse is by making Warrick or McNamera a non-factor and the Tide have the athletes to do just that. In their last 5 games If you exclude the sick 12-22 performance by the Salukis from behind the arc, Bama has held their opponents to 32-103 shooting from 3pt land (31%). Perimeter defense to slow down McNamera....check.....Now over their last 5, the Tide have gotten to the line an average of 26.6 times a game and coverted on 73.4% of those opportunities. They can take it to the hole and that means drawing fouls on Warrick, which makes him less of a factor if he is on the bench in foul trouble. Both teams shoot the 3 very well and Bama will need that to take advantage of the zone they will see. I think it will be a tight game and will come down to who can make their outside shots and take advantage of their trips to the charity stripe. Bama advances.........

    St. Joe's -2.5
St Joes vs Wake Forest.....since 98, The #4 seed has done dreadful in this round, going just 1-9 SU & 3-7 ATS (1-6 L4yrs) , the NEGATIVE SIDE: Favorites off BB ATS losses are 1-6 ATS L4yrs

WF came into the tourney having lost their 3 previous games and have put together 2 wins by a total margin of 5 points. VCU and Manhattan are far from CBB powerhouses, so there is some reason for concern. They have been one of the most explosive teams all year, but also one of the most inconsistent (this has to be expected with a freshman at the point). Joe's has been fighting for respect throughout the year despite going through the regular season undefeated. With A-10 partner Xavier joining them in the round of 16, maybe people will realize that the A-10 isn't a cakewalk afterall. Deacons will have the advantage on the inside, but just about every school could say that when they faced the Hawks. It will be a showcase of guard play and Nelson is the best in the nation. Paul is a great baller, but his lack of experience will be exposed by the tandom of Nelson and West. WF is allowing teams to shoot 49.8% over their last 5 games and the Hawks will take full advantage of the Deacons poor D.... St Joe's by 7...

    Uconn -9
UConn vs Vandy.....Favorites of 9 or more points are 21-12 ATS....Vandy is out of their league in this one and the "luck" runs out against a loaded Huskies squad!!....Uconn by 15.....
