If it is just a matter of conscientious objection to the war in Iraq (I happen to agree that there was an ulterior motive to be there and that 9/11 was just a springboard to enact this policy- see Plan for Iraq Invasion 1998 - these guys who currently participate in, run and contribute to this legitimate website include most of the high level advisors currently in the Bush Administration today and most of them have NEVER served in the US military ever yet want to utilize it for geopolitical gain) he should have asked to be reassigned to serve duty in Afghanistan where we DO belong. That would be my alternative solution, although I seriously doubt that I would want to leave behind my unit in Iraq. These guys rely on each other like a family- and trust each other with their lives.
