Things get tricky on the last few days of the regular season. Who is playing to win, who cares, who doesnt want to get injured, who is fighting for a playoff spot, who wants to clean out his locker and spend time with his wife and kids?
my thursday plays are:
St Louis +.5 even
Detroit cllinched last night, they cant finish any higher, they cant finish any lower. St Louis is playing for the playoffs, I think its pretty straight forward why I like this play.
Montreal / Philly under 5
Last time these 2 teams scored 6 goals combines was in late 2002 with 5 games between. MTL is tired, philly doesnt light up the lamp and both teams are settling into 'playoff' mode and with Hitchcock at the helm dont look for any wide open hockey tonight thats for sure.
TB / Fla over 5
Luongo is starting to show the signs of a goalie who has seen more rubber thrown at him than Timber at a gay sailor party. TB is a good offensive team, but they dont necessarily play the defensive game well in their own end. Fla is coming off a game last night which wasnt a hard hitting affair but they got the benefit of a couple good bounces for goals. John Grahame is in net, in his last home game he gave up 5 goals to an offensively inept team in Carolina.
