I hate to tell you all it not the cops! Its the fucking lawers and the court system! I had a lady steal like $2500 of my equipment a police officer saw her do it but since it was her business could not stop her. I filed a felony warrant out on her! She high tailed it to another state they arrested her. She hired a lawer 2.5 years later I still don't have my stuff back the system is so fucked up. Next time I will just handle my business fuck them up and if I get caught go to jail fuck it! Even if they caught the pucks who stole your stuff they would do shit to them. BUT ITS OKAY FOR THE FUCKING DEA TO HARRASS ALL OF US BECAUSE WE WANT TO BUILD MUSCULES! YOU TELL WHERE THE JUSTICE IS! oKAY I HAVE VENTED NOW THANKS!

We all have to look out for each other out there, but sadly, too many people just don't want to get involved.
I think FL is the worst for that. When I lived in NY it never happened to me, but in the last few years I've leased 3 Honda Accords and each one had a hit and run that did more than paint damage and it costs me big when I have to fix it or turn the car in. I got a huge dent in this car when it was only about 2 months old. Grrrrrrrrrrrr!

Get this. Back in college, I was a criminal justice major. One of my instructors (former FBI supervisor) told me about this guy while he was in NYC that had been robbed of his car stereo like a 1/2 dozen times in 3 years. He (victim) was so pissed that when he bought a new car stereo, he installed it in the dash and lined all around the back side of it with razor blades facing outward. You couldn't see or feel this from the front just under the dashboard at the back of the stereo.

Anyway, eventually some POS street punk breaks into his car and attempts to tear out the stereo. He doesn't know about the razor blades and cuts several fingers quite severely- so much so that an ambulance was summoned to the scene while the cops finally arrested him. He was prosecuted in criminal court, received what amounted to a slap on the wrist, and then turned around and sued the owner of the car for damages in civil court- and won a settlement! The effin guy wouldn't have been injured if he didn't burglarize the car to begin with but it didn't matter under civil law! What a bite in the ass for the stereo owner. He finally gets a conviction on a buglar and still winds up getting screwed for it in the end.

              :cursin:

Reminds me of a case of my Moms.

Can I just point out that this is STUFF and that it is NOT worth going to jail over.

Knock on wood...haven't been ripped while here in DC area. In Florida, my cars got broken into all the time...had luggage stolen, stereos, etc. Ended up with alarms on cars and house.

Cops are good for almost convincing us all that life is safe. Just don't ever expect them to make YOU or YOUR family or YOUR place safe! The only work in theory.

We got dicks running stop signs all day long in my neghborhood. Where are the cops? Their newest "initaitive" is f*ckin PARKING enforcement! These clowns don't have a clue!

First, let me say that it really sucks to be a crime victim. I have been there and understand your feelings, which are justified.

Second, BruceWillis is right--the entire legal system is in the toilet. Judges are making their own laws ("interpreting" things to avoid the obvious intent of the law) and lawyers are arguing over semantic points so the innocent can get harassed and the guilty go free. (I know this does not happen all the time, but it happens a much higher percentage of the time than it should.)
