  • canadian 18yrs old buying a truck!

well its time its time, i must get wheels, unfortunatly i had a major 800$ speeding ticket almost 2 years ago . the good news is that insurance company still hasnt found out . anyways im looking for a chevrolet s10 since its cheap reliable and easy to repair, (im in mechanics and apprenticing next year) so my job will help me if it breaks down or what not.

anyways what are ur thoughts on a car or truck i should buy? something old cheap less than 2 grand lol im on a budget and cheap on insurance.

i found an s10 thats 1989 and 800 bucks. i might have to check it out to see if its shit. should i even bother? post your responses now!! lol

btw i lost 6 points off my license , i get them back to 0 on july 15

but the insurance company wont remove the speeding ticket from my record till another year

S10's are cheap and easy to fix. Make sure you get the 4.3 motor tho.

ya' the 4.3L is a nice engine. It's basicly the same bore and stroke as the classic 350cuin. small block Chevy. Tried and trued, if you take care of basic mantinence it will last you a long time.

The S10's are nice and cheap. few things to look out for, if it has cruise control the wires tend to go in the controls it's on the same control as the turn signals and you will lose everything on that control... Hope that makes sense. Also their fuel pumps tend to go out kinda' early.. but other than that, they are good little trucks...

LOL, i drive a 91 turbo sprint. It's dirt cheap on gas and the parts are cheap too. Just building up a DOHC suzuki 1.3 for it. If you're looking for a cheap ride, get a suzuki swift GT or turbo sprint. Can't go wrong with the price of gas these days.

Saving on gas might be nice, but I'd never feel safe in a really small car. You hit so much as a deer and you're gonna get mangled, let alone another car.

Or the new freaking SUV's they've got going on around here. Not to mention jacked up Pick-ups and SUVs. You might as well be driving a, what was that car that used to blow up in rear end collisions?, whatever it is, it's that you should be driving. :cursin:
