  • Intelligence of dogs...

    http://www.petrix.com/dogint/intelligence.html

I never reaized that so much of a dogs intelligence had to do with it's breed. I had a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever when I was young and they were both quite smart and learned tricks easilly. They were also very well behaved and listened to commands the first time.

i have 3 german shepards and they are smart as hell. Well the guy dog, is the largest one, smart but lazy. The oldest girl we have is the smartest one of them all. I could either tell her sit, or in spanish "sientate", and she sits and gives me her hand. I tell her to roll and she rolls. I tell them all PAPA, which means food in spanish and they go nuts. They come in front of me and beg me to serve them, doing tricks and all. I just love them.:agree:

I have a 3 year old female. If I say to her "Get Porter" she finds and pounces on my 2 year old male by that name. I can tell her "load truck" or "load trailer" and she gets in the bed of the truck or into the horse trailer. She's smart. All my other dogs are not as bright as her.

I 've got a Jack Russel Terrier. I've been told they are the smartest breed of dog.

When he was a puppy we put him in the bathroom because we were mowing the lawn, he somehow hoped up on the sink opened the doorknob ran to the back door(which is a sliding door we had locked). He push the kicklock with his paw and ran from side to side pushing the door until it opened and came running out to chase the lawn mower.

Thats a damn smart dog. He even growls at you when you flick him off

My Sheppard is smart enough to know when she wraps her rope around something she looks up at it and then untangles herself. My Doby on the other hand would walk around something till his head was pined to the ground and then scream for help. I so loved that dog. Dobies are the best even if there not the brightest bulb in the store room
