  • Senators vs. Leafs Hockey Night in Canada

They are most likely playing each other in the first round, and the winner of this game gets home ice advantage. It doesn't get any better than this! The beer is cold, the TV is locked on CBC...I am a happy man:D

Ottawa is getting blown out 5-0, and Domi just charged at and injured Bondra. If you can, and aren't already, start watching this game. It's gonna get UGLY!!!

I didn't like that Toronto won...intil I realized the implications: if New Jersey beats Boston tomorrow, it means we're gonna have the Leafs vs. the Canadiens round 1. Seeing as how I have tickets to game 4 in Montreal, I am rooting hard for Boston tomorrow. Toronto is a team Montreal can definately beat.

That's a tough call. Toronto has been on fire, while Montreal has been hit and miss. I don't think Boston has a prayer tomorrow against NJ.

            Those damn Bruins won...

That's okay though, because I think Montreal can take them if they get solid goaltending. If you contain Thornton and Gonchar, the rest of the Bruins aren't gonna beat you in a seven game series.

I'm not too worried about Samsonov, Murray and Knuble. Gonchar scares me, because he is probably the best pure offensive defenceman in the league. Thornton is a big guy with a great shot, and he tends to draw a lot of penalty calls because it's so hard to keep him from cutting to the net. If the Habs can contain these two, I really think they can do it.

(Don't forget the Forum Ghosts historical factor. Montreal and Boston have met a league-record 30 times in the playoffs...and Montreal has won 22 of those series. Boston fans used to call the Forum the "Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge Burial Ground", as that's where most of Boston's Stanley Cup dreams died. It's a new arena now, but the Habs beat em just a couple of years ago there as well.)
