  • Got wisdom teeth yanked!

Yesterday I got my wisdom teeth yanked out. It all went smoothly, but today i am swolen as fuck, and cant eat anything. THis is really starting to get to me. I cant sleep too well, and deffinitely cant eat. I am living off pudding and protein shakes at the moment. I am wondering how much weight i am going to lose off this shit. I am assuming like 5 pounds. Damn fast metabolism.

Anyone have any similar experiences? Or words of advise?

I had mine out this summer. I was "out of comission" for like 3-4 days at the most. I think the day after my surgery I wanted to drive again...yea, that didn't happen. I don't think that I lost that much weight, but I kept up my diet pretty well, it was really only the first two days that hurt me. I was very lucky. Sorry I wasn't of more help, but I don't think it will be too bad.

Wow you guys are unlucky. I had mine pulled, slept most of that day, that night had soft foods. I was careful the next day, but 2 days after the surgury I was eating solids again. Never had swelling, or bleeding after the 2nd day. I think it depends a lot on how much they've grown in. If you get it done really early they can just suck them out of your gums before they're solid and you don't even get sockets.

Oh, and don't let ANYTHING stay in the open sockets, or you'll get infection. If it starts to hurt, make sure you use the rinser you got from the orthodontist. Gargle some mild salt water 3 times a day, blah blah blah, I'm sure you've heard most of it already.

            Oh i'm ready.

And we will see who is the crybaby when you get yours out in two weeks. You may want to plan your cycle around that, because the way i am seeing it now, it may not be too wise to get your wisdom teeth yanked in mid cycle. You will be wasting a certain ammount of the gear, because you wont be able to eat anywhere near what you should be for a few days.

            Bitch. Lol

I had mine out when I was young because with all the work they did with my braces they didn't want my wisdom teeth messing it up so when mine were taken out they weren't even teeth yet just the buds. it was an easy procedure with hardly any pain. I would look into it for all those with kids young enough.

It's getting better slowely but steadily, but it is hard as hell to eat anywhere near as much food as i know i should be eating. I also haven't lifted for 4 days. I am just waiting.

Careful Lexi, I had one growing in, and it seemed fine. But then when I got my x-rays, the doctor told me that on the other side, the tooth that hadn't come through yet was growing in horizontally, directly toward my other teeth.

So even if they SEEM to be coming in right, you should still get the x-ray and expert opinion. If they grow in wrong they can start to mess with your jaw, and throw your teeth out of alignment.
