Cinn +1 1/2 (-130)
Having a little trouble finding out why you can get runs and a 4-1 team for as little as -130 here. Wilson gave 4 hits in 7 strong innings in his last. Wolf continued to get hit as he did much of last year giving 6 hits in 5 innings. 1-4 Philly is hoping to right the ship at home and I don't care if they do win by 1 run.
Atlanta/Mets OVER 9
If you go back several years you will find that these two traditionally score lots of runs for some reason against each other. Hampton was hammered by these Mets for 9 hits in just 4 innings this year. The Braves got to Trachsel for 8 hits in just 3 innings. That final was 18-10 and I only need 10 runs total here.
Pitt/Cubs OVER 7
You will have to check the wind in Wrigley before you hit this one. It is usually a major factor. I have hit as many overs with the wind blowing in as out though so I don't pay much attention to it but you should not be as stupid as me. Benson allowed 7 hits in 5 innings last time out. Maddux allowed only 4 hits in 6 innings but two of those 4 were HR's. The key here is that Benson allowed 3 walks and Maddux 2 walks. That's a lot for both in just a short span of innings. The 2 HR also speaks volumes when you are talking about Maddux.
Minn/Cle OVER 9 1/2
These two have already played 3 times this year and the scores were 11-4, 7-6, and 7-4. In fact they have combined for 9 overs and just 2 unders on the season. Lee looked good against the minor leaguers of spring but he allowed Minn 6 hits in just 4 innings. Lohse gave the tribe 9 hits in just 4 innings. That game was the 11-4 score. Again the key here is walks as they both gave 3 and 4 walks in very few innings. Walks are an over bettors best friend.
MLW/SF OVER 9
Neither of these pitchers (Kinney/Williams) are overpowering. Kinney was really banged around last year. The key here is that PacBell park is a tomb at night but during the day the ball carries.
Colorado +1 1/2 (-130)
The linemakers have very short memories apparently. Yes, Jennings got banged around in this years debut and Webb looked solid as he is a solid pitcher anyway. But The Rocks are tough as all hell at home. This is their first home game this season. They are 1-4 so far but all have been on the road. I get the home team and runs for very little? Pass some this way please. Very nice.
Anaheim
Kind of a throw in game to complete the card for me but frankly Washburn is not as bad as his first start indicates and Lewis is definitely not as good. Look for Lewis' starts this year and bet the over. I like the offense to back up Washburn here so I'm taking the Angels not the over 11 1/2.
Houston/St Louis OVER 10
St Louis is not really a hitters park but the StL pitching staff makes it seem so. Woody can be tough but 6 hits in 3 innings tells me he is yet to warm up. Fernadez pitched 2/3 of an inning in relief 3 days ago and now is starting? That's not good during the season but at the beginning it can be a nightmare. He gave up 3 hits while getting just those two outs too. These two teams have a combined 9 overs and just 1 under in this young season. A high number but worth a bet over.
