Boston
Have to pay the price here (-210). Lowe is one of my favorite pitchers. he struggled some last year but he seems like he is in stride this year so far. He did give up 7 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings though so keep the deed to the farm in the safe. But Boston hammered Ainsworth last week for 7 hits and 7 earned runs in just 1 2/3 innings. He also gave them 3 walks. I don't know how he found the time to fuck up that bad in such a short period of time. Lowe and the Red Sox should cruise here.
Florida/Montreal UNDER 8 1/2
Penny was a real surprise last year. His first start of the year he yielded just 4 hits in 7 innings. I'm not a big fan of Vargas as he can get wild but he went 6 innings allowing just 4 hits. He did give 3 walks. I think the Marlins win here but I have to bet an under once a year. It's in my contract. Did I mention that these two have played 12 total games this year and not one of those games has gone over?
Houston
I really don't like Jeff Suppan. I didn't like him with the brewers and I didn't like him with the Pirates. He allowed 8 hits and 3 walks in just 4 innings in his last. Not much to like there. Ok, let's suppose that Roger is ready to have a good year. He has good run support. All he has to do is not lose it. His first start he went 7 innings and allowed only 1 hit to the Giants. Not too bad. This may be simply stealing to have the Rocket and only have to lay -130.
MLW/SF OVER 9
I don't like this Capuano kid. I think they rushed him into the majors last year and he will pay for it. He didn't do too bad giving up 4 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings. It's the control I don't like about him though. Dustin Hermanson is still pitching in the majors because Alou coached him when he was with the Expos. He is crafty but long in the tooth. A good hitting team will get to him. The Brewers can hit. Expect Bonds to take a day off here. Shouldn't matter.
Seattle/Anaheim OVER 8 1/2
Escobar allowed 7 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings. Not real good. I don't know what the hell happened to Piniero. He was once one of the best young pitchers in baseball. But these same Angels crushed him in his debut this year with 9 hits and 4 walks in just 4 innings. While everyone was talking about the Yankees, they misses that Anaheim may be the team this year.
