Does canthaxanthin work ?

Saw an ad for these capsules (canthaxanthin) for tanning instead of sun or rub-ons.

Anybody use it or what you think about it?

Clint Eastwood made the stuff popular during his screen time. It works but can turn your palms and soles of your feet reddish. I am fair skinned so it probably was more apparent. A person with a bit of a tan or not so fair would do better.

My wife and I both used it. The tan you get is not much and we took the recommended amount, which runs into a few dollars. IMO you are better off with a regular tan. You can add a topical tanning product if you are going into a contest and need to be darker.
