    -$230 yesterday
    -$17 running total

I am a bit of a slump. Hoping to break out in a big way today.

    Kansas City +1 1/2 (-200)

Alt RL bet here. Anderson will give you 5 runs or at least he has each time in 3 starts. Cle is just plain lousy. Starting a reliever in Durbin won't help their cause any here. He has allowed 7 runs in 10 innings. Now remember, that's in relief and it's not who he inherited. He put them on himself and then let them score himself. KC just lost 3 in a row to a hot Twins team and that's why I'm buying the run insurance.

    Toronto +1 1/2 (-150)

This is the RL. Pedro goes for the Sox but I have to take Halladay and + runs at home no matter what and against anyone. I don't even have to lay -250 for this. I don't care if this bet loses tonight. I will end up paying -200 for Roy later in the season and here I get him at home plus runs for -150. Can't pass this up boys and girls.

    Florida +1 1/2 (-200)

Another Alt RL bet. I can't figure this one out either. Padilla walks too many batters. Philly has played better since their rainout and meeting but Fla is pretty good as well. I get one of the better pitchers in baseball (at least early in the season) and I get runs too? Did I mention that Willis has gone 12 innings and not allowed a run? True that was against an anemic Montreal team but still.........

    Cubs

No ups and no extras here just ML. The Cubs hammered Vogelsong the last time they saw him this year. 10 hits in just 3 innings. I remember giving him too much credit as I lost betting on him. I won't make that mistake again as he falls behind hitters and then grooves his pitches. Zambrano has pitched well so far. He has allowed 8 hits in 13 innings and he had 6 k's against this Pirate team earlier this year. I don't think the Cubs will win 93 games but they will win games and I think this is one of them. I hope they keep pitching carefully to Sosa and then give Alou all he can eat.

    Arizona/MLW OVER 9

Dessens is holding a lofty 8.71 ERA. He deserves it. He's not very good. Sheets has everyone talking about what a great pitcher he is. But I know two things about Mr Sheets. First, he doesn't go very deep innings wise in his starts. And second.......... well second is a secret. He walks too many and is prone to the longball. But shhhhhh........don't tell anyone because his stats this year don't give that away.......yet.

    Houston (-170)

ML here. Suppan has been, well, Suppan this year. He has a 6.55 ERA and although he has not pitched badly but wait for it. Miller has been lights out on the other hand. He allowed only 2 hits in 7 innings this year to these Cards and that was in St Louis. Now he pitches at home. Hou is really playing good ball and they look like as solid a contender as there is in the NL.

    Minnesota +1 1/2 (-200)

Alt RL here. Johnson has been anything but great for the Tigers. Radke could be coming into the same form he had a few years ago. He looked very sharp in his last. Minn just swept KC. The secret to this bet is that Bobby Higginson hurt his leg last night against Cle. I wouldn't expect him in the lineup and even if he surprises me and shows he won't be 100%. Without him the Tigers hitting dynamic changes. I think Minn wins this one.

    Oakland/Seattle OVER 8 1/2

Franklin allowed the A's 8 hits and 4 runs in 5 innings inm their first meeting. Harden was horrible allowing 11 hits in just 4 innings. I have to get at least a 4-4 game with these two sooner or later.
