  • Worst President in History?

The following appeared in the Durham, NC local paper as a letter to the
    >editor. It may offend some readers but think about it before going to
    >the polls in November.
    >
    >Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They
    >complain about his execution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush
    >was the worst president in U.S. history. Let's clear up one point: We
    >didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by
    >terrorists BEFORE 9/11. Let's look at the "worst" president and
    >mismanagement claims.
    >
    >FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did.
    > >From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per
    >year.
    >
    >Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never
    >attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of
    >18,333 per year.
    >
    >John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never
    >attacked us.
    >
    >Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives
    >were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.
    >
    >Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia never
    >attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
    >times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple
    >occasions.
    >
    >In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has
    >liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put
    >nuclear inspectors in Lybia, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot,
    >and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We
    >lost 600 soldiers, an average of 300 a year. Bush did all this abroad
    >while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.
    >
    >Worst president in history? Come on!
    >
    >The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but...
    >
    >It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno to take the
    >Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51 day operation.
    >
    >We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons in Iraq for less
    >time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law Firm billing
    >records.
    >
    >It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to
    >destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Teddy Kennedy to call
    >the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
    >
    >It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in
    >Florida!!!!
    >
    >Our military is GREAT! PASS IT ON.

if you call leveling an entire country, killing men women and children because they don't want us there, and forcing our political beliefs on them liberating, then i suppose you are right. WE ARE THE LARGEST, MOST POWERFULL, TERRORIST NATION ON THE GLOBE. don't get me wrong, i love america, but i am sick and tired of this hipocritical bullshit.

the last time that th US forcefully invaded and occupied a foreign nation was in WWII with our ocupation of germany from, i believe 45-49. the only reason we did invade germany was because they were striving for world domination. that pissed us off. god gave US permission to dominate the earth - not them. so we kicked them off the playground.

We also occupied japan for a short time - and lets not forget what we did to those poor bastards! we killed hundreds of thousand of men, women and children with 2 bombs. if that's not terrorism i don;t know what is. significantly larger in comparrison to the 2700 that al-quieda claimed on 9/11 don;t you think? once again, the US is praticing that double-standard, hipocracy bullshit.

Chris---No I don't subscribe to any political mags, conservative or otherwise. I believe I have read before in some of your posts that you are a student, and good for you. Obviously you are young then, too young to know what the world is really like. I too was a liberal at your age, but soon learned better, and so will you. There is an old saying---"If you're young and are not a liberal, you have no heart--if you're old and are not a conservative, you have no brain." You pick 'em. Sure the post was biased, all political issues are biased, but you have to read between the lines. You and Goliath, and I really don't know where he is coming from, are sadly mistaken in your beliefs and opinions. Yes, America, like all other countries, work on a semi-terrorist agenda. If they didn't, nobody would obey the laws that govern. Income tax is terrorism, speed limits are terrorism, murdering your neighbor and going to jail for it is terrorism. You and most everybody else in this country, (except criminals), obey the laws, mainly, because if they didn't, they would go to jail or pay big fines. That too IS terrorism. America is just not as ruthless, most of the time, as other countries who use religion and brain washed youths to do their dirty work. BB

Ok if I am understanding right then we should not have gone into Germany and saved peoples lives and killed Hitler. We aslo should not allow the largest terrorist Saddam to continue to kill his people for no good reason,. Thats makes perfect sense. So you are telling me if someone came into power in our country and took over and started killing everyone that he did not like or beleive in the same things that he beileved in or think the way he did, you would not want some other country step in and talk control. Its funny that they only show the people that don't want us in Iraq on television and never show the people that have come to our country because they could not stand the way it was in theirs. I have had many of dealings withe people who have lived under saddam who praised Bush for finally doing something to get him out of power. I mean the guy hid food from his own people.

Checkoutmyrapp, the reason you don't see anything but the disgruntled people on TV, is because reporters are mostly very liberal in their political views, as are the networks. You mentioned all the people you know that are glad we went into Iraq. Funny thing that Chris and Goliath tout it was OK to fight in WWII to get rid of the dictator Hitler, but not OK to do the same in Iraq. See if you can figure them out, I can't. BB

It is the reason that our country is the way it is today. Yes we have found saddam but in the eyes of many people we will not have won the war in Iraq because it is political just like Vietnam was. You can never win a political war it is impossible. We have to ask for the publics opinion on everything that our government does. Do you think when we fougt (can't really spell) the british that we had all the support of the people, NO, well that seemed to work out ok, huh. I beleive the news is very liberal biased to the point were they are trying to get people against Bush. I am not syaing that I agree with all his veiws and everything he has done but I beleive that he has done a lot of good.

damn cuz...you bump your head?....you DO realize the difference between WWII and 9/11 to be sure......I take it that was just a misguided attempt to make a point.

I don't know how many time I should make this point. I am certainly not liberal in the vast majority of my beliefs. I most certainly have herad that saying before and I don't agree with it at all. I am a very conservative person, and I most certainly have a heart. That saying twists so much and makes the assumption that a conservative person is a republican and a liberal is a democrat. Blah, I don't agree with that at all.

So you are saying that we as a people only follow rules to escape the punishment, thus we are instilled with fear, which is basically the definition of terroism? :dunno:

Back to what I posted, nothing along the lines of your response. I am just upset that the author of this piece had the gaul to bring FDR into his little rampage. We were allied with a country that was being attacked. Whatever...
