  • now this shit kills me

when u talk about wars, thier bad but when u talk about KIDS being involved, now this shit has gone to fucking far. I WISH DEATH upon those faggets down at Iraq. I hope they burn in hell when they die. Just pisses me off when they have to kill little innocent kids going to school. Poor little things, i love kids.

BAGHDAD, Iraq(AP) Near-simultaneous explosions ripped through three police stations in a southern Iraqi city on Wednesday, killing at least 40 people, including schoolchildren in a passing bus, and injuring some 200, a hospital official said.

A fourth explosion near Basra's police academy went off about two hours after the initial blasts. There was no immediate information on casualties from that blast.

At one station in the Saudia district of Basra, four vehicles were seen destroyed including two school buses. At least one of the school buses appeared to have been full of passengers.

About 10 elementary school students whose bus was passing by the Saudia station at the time of the blast were among the dead, Iraqi Police Col. Kadhem al-Muhammedawi said.

Cars outside of the station were charred. The interior of one of the school buses was burned out, the seats shredded.

The facade of the Saudia station was also heavily damaged and there was a hole 6-feet deep and 9-feet wide in front of the Saudia station.

More than 40 people were killed and at least 200 injured in the blast, said Ali Hussein, an emergency physician at Basra's main hospital.

Bloodied and badly burned bodies were seen being rushed to the hospital.

Dozens of bodies could be seen in the morgue and in the hallways of Basra's Educational Hospital, the city's largest.

British military spokesman Squadron Leader Jonathan Arnold said the blasts were believed to have been caused by car bombs.

Al-Muhammedawi said, however, that the blasts may have been caused by rocket attacks.

Also Wednesday, about 35 Iraqi insurgents attacked U.S. Marines in Fallujah with rocket-propelled grenades and small arms, setting off a heavy gunbattle, the military said. No casualties were immediately reported.

The violence came a day after Iraqi leaders named a tribunal of judges and prosecutors to try Saddam Hussein, placing a longtime opponent of the ousted dictator in the forefront of the case against him and his former Baathist inner circle.

On Tuesday, A senior member of Ahmad Chalabi's Iraqi National Congress was appointed to head the all-Iraqi tribunal a potentially controversial choice.

Chalabi, a longtime exile who returned to Iraq and was named to the U.S.-appointed Iraqi Governing Council, is mistrusted as an outsider by many Iraqis who want to see Saddam prosecuted by Iraqis who were present under his brutal rule.

Meanwhile, guerrillas fired a barrage of mortar rounds at Baghdad's largest prison, killing 22 prisoners in an attack a U.S. general said may have been an attempt to spark an inmate uprising against American guards. The slain prisoners were all security detainees, meaning they were suspected of belonging to the anti-U.S. insurgency or to Saddam's former regime.

A U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in the northern city of Mosul: It was the 100th American combat death in April, the deadliest month since the U.S.-led invasion began in March 2003.

At least 1,100 Iraqis have been killed in fighting since the start of the month, according to an Associated Press count based on reports from hospitals and Iraqi and U.S. officials.

I don't know why we are a screwing around in that goddamn place. These guys are still in the 9th century, where razing villages and killing one and all was standard operational procedure for your horde of choice.

We are trying to impose democracy, a 18th century concept on a people and a region that is still stuck in the dark ages. They still need to go through a renaissance where the age of religious dogma is replaced by the age of reason and science and when that happens they may be ready for democracy.

In the meantime, there are 700 families missing a father, a husband, a brother, a son. That pisses me off... I don't believe shedding a drop of American blood is worth it for these fuckers...

If it were up to me, I would get the hell out of the middle east and let these bastards blow each other up - I don't care. And while we are at it, we should get out of Europe as well. Those losers should take care of their own security as well. I think that should free up enough resources to effectively secure our borders and impose better immigration control.

Damn, now I am pissed... just can't handle our boys getting shot up for these losers....

exactly, well put. I say we pull out of all these countries. we take all our troops and we take all our money and we give back all the countries to the people that want them and let them destroy them or join the 1st world countries. No one helped america get where its at. so why do people think we have to rush other countries to democracy. Its kindof like star treks Prime Directive-Not to interfere with developing worlds (in this case countries). then when we get out shit together we can intregrate all the economically sound countries we want to but until then leave them alone to their own perils.

At first when I was starting to read your post I was like what the F is he talking about, but then you go and totally redeem yourself and finish it off as you did. I beleive Yes we should help out other countries in need but they are way past help, I am not saying
that all the people over there are bad but We are over there freeing these animals and they are still fighting against us. We have done our part and got rid of sadaam and are trying to put a government in place and we should be done.

Bro, we should never have gotten engaged in the middle east in the first place. The problem with what you are saying - getting in, establishing a democratic government and getting out - is that this will only succed is there is a fundamental democratic groundswell in the country. I am not sure there is and I am afraid the whole thing will descend into anarchy the moment we leave leaving us no better off than we started. I wish it would be this easy and I would be the happiest guy if it happened that way but I am afraid this is not going to be over that soon and we are going to be stuck there for many years with god knows how many more of our boys dying out there.

We got attacked on 9/11. We should have gone into Afghanistan with all guns blazing (which we did), and finished the job with Bin Laden (which we haven't). We would have shown that if you mess with Uncle Sam, you are going to get your ass kicked so badly, you are going to be recycling glass from your desert sands for the next 30 years. We could have done that but we didn't. We did this with Gaddafi. We bombed the bejeesus out of him and he came around with his tail between his legs.

Instead we got distracted with this Iraq shit. What we need to do is to let Pakistan know in no uncertain terms that if they don't clean up their act and secure their borders and eject Al Qaeda, we will lower the boom on them as well because I bet Bin Laden is sitting in Pakistan laughing his ass off right now.

The rest of the Middle East can go to hell for all I care. It is too bad that their people are poor and backward, but hell so are people in India and mainland China. But I don't see them running around acting like they are in the 8th or 9th century. They are instead getting educated and industrialized and soon they will be major economic powers as well. And more power to them - they deserve it.

O I understand what you are saying because I am sure that the minute we leave them to govern themselves they will mess it up, but then atleast we can say we tried. That country is so ass backwards I don't think they can help but screw anything up.

It is possible that we could establish and maintain a somwehat democratic society in this country. If the UN ever gets their shit back together, and DOES set up in Iraq and govern the way they are supposed to, it could be possible.

That being said- IMHO, there was absolutely no reason for us to waste $80 billion and American lives by going into that country. They've been an ass backwards twisted Muslim country ever since Moby was a minnow. That's their culture, and a democracy challenges that in every way.

As an American, I feel extremely misled by my president. He wanted to finish what his daddy started, plain and simple. There was no proof, and they have yet to find any potential proof. Just because you find some buried Russian fighter planes in the desert, that must mean you can be justified in your political attack on a country.

The only good thing that has come of this is that this evil man has been taken out of power. The Holocaust, Bosnia, Somalia, 9/11, and now this were all extremely awakening examples of how a dictator can attempt and succeed to eliminate masses of people....and all were related to religious beliefs. That is the only reason that I have to justify the war. We went into these countries to protect the people. The weaker populations have been terrorized for years. As a human, and as a superpower, I don't think it's right for a country like ours to sit back and watch dictators try to wipe out masses of people.

A democracy may not work in Iraq. But at least we are giving the people an opportunity to figure out how to govern themselves without living in fear of being killed for their choices or decisions. We take it for granted every day...Even bitch about the fact some of our rights are imposed upon. When in all actuality very few others have these same rights.

Buff, you should be published. Helluva wordsmith.

Anyway, I agree with what I think is your most fundamental point...that being that Iraquis have to, on some level, demand democracy or whatever hybrid they get. We (and the UN) accomplish little if it's all an imposition of world view on a people who are not ready or desirous of it. Why spin our wheels on this? The cost is too great.

...and another $50 billion will be needed for this effort by year-end, according to CNN last night. And how many more of our guys will die?
