  • Friday Baseball Plays

    3-1 yesterday ( a rainout and a cancelled pitcher) for a profit of +$130

Running total of a profit of +$235

    My friday plays are:

    Cincinnati Reds

Wells was pushed over from yesterday's rained out game with Chicago. Wilson's only bad start this season was in Chicago (wind blown 11-10 loss). The Pirates are scoring only 2.8 runs at home, while allowing opponents to score 5.8. Both will pitch well but the Reds have the stronger offense and should prevail.

Minnesota Twins/Kansas City Royals over 11

Just as I pulled the trigger on this pick the line changed from even to -$115.00. Louse has been lousy. He has an ERA of 7.87. Appier has just been activated. He's pitched 3 innings and has an ERA of 15.00. The Twins average 7.9 runsa against righthanders and gives up an average of 6.6. The Royals average 5.4 against righties and gives up an average of 6.8. So 2 teams with lousy starters who love to score in bundles.

    Toronto Blue Jays

At times when I type up the Jays as my pick, I feel like shooting myself. They have time and time again managed to screw me over. Here is another reason why I'm taking a shot at them screwing me again. Hentgen was bumped from this start (I was gonna go all over the O's if he was starting) and Towers get the start. I took a glimpse at what Towers has done for the Jays. Towers was 2-0 on the road last season. His ROI was 62.7%. He was 8-1 on games he started last season for the Jays. DuBose was 3-7 with an ROI of -25.0%. On 9/12/03, Towers and the Jays beat Dubose and the O's 4-2. I'm hoping for a repeat or the Jays will continue to become my of the year (along with the Phils).

    Chicago Cubs

Simple science. The Mets offense has been awful. The Cubs offense has been hot. Seo has been pitiful. Maddux has struggled but always had a knack for showing up against the Mets. You know the Met bullpen will come in at some point and that makes this pick awfully solid.

    Other MLB picks without write-ups:

    Colorado Rockies

Boston Red Sox/ New York Yankeees under 10

    San Diego Padres
