Florida/Colorado OVER 11
Beckett is a good pitcher that has been not so good in his last couple starts. Most recently, he allowed 6 ER in only 5 innings. Jennings is just plain not so good. Very low number for here. Either they are banking on Beckett turning it around or the wind is blowing in. Doesn't matter to me. I'll try over.
Seattle/Baltimore OVER 9 1/2
I hate 9 1/2. It's a middle line where they aren't sure it's going to go over and neither am I. But Seattle has been waking up from their hitting sleep and I know how you spell OVER in Baltimore. It's spelled A-I-N-S-W-O-R-T-H.
Oakland/Yankees OVER 8 1/2
Mulder has been pitching ok but his walks are getting worse. Contreras is just bad and has not seen the 4th inning in his last two starts. I just love guys that say "He should do well today because he's due." Yep. "Due" to continue pitching badly. Low number here that has to be taken advantage of.
Houston/Pitt OVER 7
I'm not sure who the pitchers are but I am sure this is a mistake. I can't think of two pitchers from either team that deserve a number as low as 7. I removed the pitchers and I don't care who throws. I should kill this but I am staying steady at one unit. I'm sure of one thing though. Many will look at this and say it must be a trick. While they're scratching their heads and hesitating I will shoot it now.
Arizona +1 1/2 (-110)
I don't have the faith that everyone seems to have in Mr Maddux. I think he pitched well in his last because he pitched against the horrible hitting Mets. I don't like Daigle much either but I like the hitting the Snakes have displayed the last two days and I like the power outage the Cubs have shown. You want a guy to go out there and hold the home team? Then you better send Wood because Maddux is not that guy. Could be high scoring if Maddux does what I think he will. This +1 1/2 on the home team is the safest bet for this game in my opinion. Although it may change in the course of the season, given who they have played, the Cubs haven't shown me much yet.
Montreal/San Diego OVER 7 1/2
Eaton allowed 9 hits in his last. Vargas has been getting crushed allowing 6 hits, 2 walks, and 5 runs in just 1 2/3 innings in his last. Number is too low.
Mets/LA OVER 7
I have never known Trachsel to be that dominant on the road. Perez has pitched well but this number is at 7? I don't care if the Mets hit or not. Too low.
Atlanta/SF OVER 8 1/2
Tomko is bad and Ortiz allows too many base runners. I'm thinking this one may be over the total much earlier than last night. Under 9 is a steal.
