5-4 last nite for a profit of $35
running total of +$215
todays picks are:
Tampa bay +1 1/2 (-160)
Kim came to the Bosox from SF where he was pretty good until just before he left. Bos has tried him at closer and he was bad. They tried him at reliever and he was bad. They tried him at starter and he was bad. Now he's starting again against a team that can beat you. Zambrano has been very good this year. Pay a little extra and throw in the runs and this is a solid bet.
Phil/St Louis UNDER 9 1/2
I know the words St Louis and under don't go together. I know Carpenter is not very good. I know that Millwood hasn't been himself recently either. But Carpenter only allowed 1 run in his last. Millwood, as bad as he has seemed, will only give you 3 runs. I think it just slides under here.
Texas/KC UNDER 11
I am not betting this because it worked last night. I am betting this because Texas is not scoring and the linesmakers still think they are. Reyes for KC is pitching well. True, it has been in relief, but I think he can hold them down some. KC is really not a hitters park and that should help.
Florida/SF UNDER 8 1/2
The ball carries better in the sunshine here and that scares me but both these pitchers are throwing very well. Florida scored a lot recently but Coors Field helped that. Same goes for the SF last. They broke out last night but that was against Ortiz and he's not happy unless he's pitching with at least two runners on base. Before that, SF was not scoring much. 5-3 will do very nicely here thank you.
Oakland/Yankees OVER 7 1/2
OK, first of all we have to think about certain rules in baseball. One is to always bet the over when Weaver pitches. The second is that minor leaguers, no matter how well they did in the minors, are usually crap in their first few years in the majors. (especially pitchers) The third is to forget what happened last year or the year before. Zito vs Brown brings on visions of Zito winning 1-0 in a titanic pitching duel. Zito has resembled the ship Titanic more than anything else this year. He has been awful. He should be a -140 dog and frankly I think they are giving him too much credit. Throw out the names and go by the pitching stats alone and this Yankee pitcher should be -200 pitching at home against this Oakland pitcher. Brown started the year very well but he has sputtered in his last few allowing too many walks. That's a first sign this guy is falling back into his injury style pitching which is bad. Didn't the Yankees just come storming back on these A's to pull out a win? Pick a side at your own risk. Both teams can hit. They set this total to what was once, not what is. I love the over here.
Mets/LA OVER 8
To be brutally honest, if I have to give you reasons for this over then you probably shouldn't be betting baseball.
