charcoal because they are cheaper and I like the taste of the meat after all is said and done on a real grill. most people buy gas because they are easier to light but I have never had a problem getting charcoal going. :)

If you're using it all the time, a gas grill is going to make you happier in most instances. Lighting charcoal, waiting for the embers to get just right, ect... is time-consuming. Taste is somewhat better, but you can get a smoker box and wood chips to get great taste from a gas grill. Don't go cheap...buy a Weber...it'll last you forever if you take care of it.

I've had a Ducane gas grill for at least 7 yrs. now and it's been fantastic. I don't have the patience for charcoal (lighting it, waiting for the coals to get hot, and cleaning up the ashes). It's got an easy connect so connecting is easy (duh). I also keep a spare tank of gas because I wouldn't want to run out half way through cooking a meal. Gas is easier during hurricanes too. :D

If you're a real BBQ gourmet, and dont' mind taking a long time to cook things, then there's nothing better than slow-smoking. Can request a catalog for great smoker BBQs here:

couldn't have put it better than that. nothing like drinking throwing a football around and flipping some meat on the grill.

I agree that the taste is some ehat better with charcoal. But as stated you can brickettes that you add to gas grill that wil help add the charcoal flavor and/or a wood smoker box also.

If I only grilled rarely I would go with charcoal but I use my grill at least 3-4 day a week. It's qicker to light and get heated and easy clean up.
