I was in Idaho this weekend attending my sis-in-laws wedding reception. Her new Father in law is the head food scientist for J.R Simplot (they make all the recepies for all of the fast food french fries) So he took our families on the tour of the research and development plant. At the end of the tour, he took us into the kitchen and cooked up 10 different recepies of french fries. He laid out 1.5 pounds each of 10 different fries for us to taste but didnt label which fry was from where.
It was awesome tasting all the different french fries but not knowing where they were from and trying to guess. It was also cool not having the bias of (oh i like mcdonalds or arby's best)
It was just fry -vs- fry. And he would do different seasonings on different fries. For example, my favorite was arby curly fry seasoning on wendy french fries.
There were fries from McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Arby's, Carls Jr., Jack in the Box, Weinerschnitzel, Del Taco, JB's/Ihop/Denny's, and Rallys
In the end, i prolly ended up eating equilvalent of 4 orders of large french fries. i was sick the whole drive home. but what a way to use your cheat meal huh?
