i was playing the part of a coward for a while. finally my wife kicked me in the ass. she asked what i was waiting for and i said i was waining for the right time. you know, for money to start falling from trees. she just said that if i continued to wait for the right time i would be miserable forever. the timing is never going to be perfect. so i took her advice, hung up the phone, walked over to my director and said - "the vpn router is offline again, internet traffic is bottle-necking. oh - and here is my formal resignation."

    :D

...i've never been so terrified in my life.

thx blm! i know you have been in my shoes before.

Yeah the first step is tough, but the road there isn't any smoother. However, I firmly believe that the pay off in the end will be well worth it, in terms of money and overall job appreciation. You are very fortunate to have such a good woman in your corner. I'm assuming she works which will make things a little easier. I lucked out this summer break and ended up having unanounced telelcom. subcontracting jobs pop up if it wasn't for that, I don't know what the hell I would have done. Things were looking ugly. Day by day man...that's how I take it. Good luck. You will do well, I am sure everyone that knows you on this board will agree.

            Goliath,

            Congratulations.

It will be all you ever dreamed and more.

You've taken that first big step, way too go.

Happiness does not fall from trees or come to those who wait.

Over time it will be easier because you are doing what you want, not what you have too, 3-6 months is kind of like the norm for those emotions too level out, so on your bad days in between know that it is 100% to be expected.

IMHO, you'll probably get a huge charge, ie, passion out of helping folks, too see the pain in folks eyes go away is an amazing and energizing site.

From now on going to think of you like the guy on SCRUBS who's the horn dogs with the tatoo's, cause you got the tatoo's, and as your not an outward horn dog, you do walk to the tune of a different drummer like that guy.

            It's all good.

                    thanks, for the compliment.

Success Coach, yet, know the main tenets of all that other stuff.

You always hear teachers and such say, "oh, passionate about the light in folks eyes."

When, I talk about that, I always add, that the light is pleasure overtaking the pain of confusion, and when it is permanent and pure it is unquestionably amazing feeling.

Here's another one of my favorites.

The Greatest Fear: Fear of Change

Concretely defined it is: The anticipation of pain if something is different.

Essentially when even change is discussed or thought of people start to project into the future what might go wrong and actually feel that emotional pain, ie, fear right now.

Well, for you, it's all gonna be different, lol, no reason to fear the pain, what's really ahead is a reality of pleasure, you just can't see it yet, yet it's just over the hill.
