Well all, I got back from Roma, Italy yesterday and all I can say is I am very impressed. Even though it was only for two days, me and my lady friend enjoyed it completely and were very sad to leave. It even got to the point where we considered skipping the flights we'd already paid for to leave a day or so later and pay for other flights. We were lucky in that the couple of days we were there for it was actually pretty good weather, sunny but not too hot to enjoy.
The only thing that pissed me off was that the accommodation I was given as part of the package was miles away from the city centre, so we spent a fortune on cabs. On Sunday night we finished up in the city centre around 9-ish. Then it took 2 trains and a bus to get us anywhere near our hotel (about 10.45). Then we ended up walking for nearly an hour and a half down a very narrow road, no sidewalk or street lights, with cars whizzing past god knows how fast, bit scary at the time.
But I think i chose great company to go with because we both laughed it off and even this walk was part of the fun. Not knowing the language was also a bit of a hindrance, but it was fun trying to communicate in sign language. I got no webpage to post my photos so i can't show you guys unfortunately, although there are some great photos, would love to show a small selection of them.
Anyway, now i am back in the UK and it sucks!!!!! Am already planning a new holiday to travel around Rome some time soon.
