Don't buy gas on May 19th!!!

Don't know how much truth or usefulness this would really have but it was an email I got.


IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF GASOLINE FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES.

Try telling this to the people that are running out of gas on that day, or traveling across the country or long distances that day. People using lawn mowers, stuff like that etc....

Like psyko said....not bad in theory, but it just isn't going to happen.

Problem is, there are millions of people that will not here anything about this. Media wont talk about it. Millions still dont use the internet. I think I will go fill up my 2 SUV's on that day. :p

I would work in theory but there are too many reasons why i can't happen, running out of gas, the need for gas for non-autobiles, people who just aren't connected to the internet . . . it goes on and on

I wont get gas that day. I dont think it will do much though, seeing as many people will do it anyway. It might do something though, because some people may follow it.

I figure what the hell. I'll give it a try. It would be interesting for smething like that to suddenly hit the news.

The oil companies wouldn't even blink. It'd just mean that they'd do double the sales on the 20th. All evens out in the end.
