  • without medical insurance, Id be in the poor house

I never realized what a difference it made until today. I went to a pharm that I havent been too, so my insurance info wasnt in their database, the cost of the meds were, $100, and $80, without insurance

After she put in my info, they were, $30, and $3...that is beyond unreal

No wonder people buy things off line, or go through Canadian pharms

We are so concerned with helping people, why on earth are the costs of our meds so damn high. Such a shame that these companies can rape people like this

For stuff like propecia, that will cost you 30 bucks a month for 30mg's, when you can buy a 1000mg's in powder form for 10 bucks...

We're self employeed so we had to find our own insurance and it's just insane. Premiums are more per month than our first appartment, deductibles are $500/person/yr, and the only medications that are covered with a $10 co-pay are generics and we're rarely given prescriptions that are available as generics. Then every time we go to a doctor or into the hospital the insurance co. fights us and insists that what we've been charged is "above reasonable and cusomary charges" and we're left having to pay even more. Annual well care check-ups are not covered and if I wanted maternity insurance that would be at least another $400/mo. and it's gotta be in place for 10 months before getting pregnant or they won't cover it. We've looked into other plans but if we were to change, pre-existing conditions would not be covered so we're pretty much stuck where we are. It sucks.

I would have to say that I am VERY lucky to have the insurance that COT provides! I pay $15 for any visit to the doctor and $50 for any emergency room visits! Anywhere from $40 to $5 for meds, but never more than $40!

I too am blessed with insurance that my job gives me. I pay like $5 for prescriptions and $0 for doctor's visits. It's a nice perk. Now only if i could get my doctor to write me some scripts....
