  • People over 30 should be dead.

    Here's why ............

According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's,50's, 60's, or even maybe the early 70's probably shouldn't have survived.

    >Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint.

    >We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, ... and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets.

    >As children, we would ride in cars with no seatbelts or air
bags.Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat.

    >We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle.

    >We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we were never overweight because we were always outside playing.

    >We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.

    >We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.

    >We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on.

    >No one was able to reach us all day. NO CELL PHONES!!!!!

    >We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends!
And we went outside and found them.

    >We played dodge ball, and sometimes, the ball would really hurt.

    >We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. They were accidents. No one was to blame but us. Remember accidents?

    >We had fights and punched each other and got black and blue and learned to get over it.

    >We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever.

    >We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to see them.

    >Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team.
Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment.

    >Some students weren't as smart as others, so they failed a grade and were held back to repeat the same grade. Horrors!

    >Tests were not adjusted for any reason.

    >Our actions were our own.

    >Consequences were expected.

    >The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that!

    >This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.

    >We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned >how to deal with it all.

    >And if you're one of them! Congratulations!

    >Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before lawyers and government regulated our lives, for our own >good !!!!!

    > People under 30 are WIMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's some more shit to think about:

I used to eat a lot of natural foods until I learned that most people die of natural causes.

Gardening Rule: When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it. If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

The easiest way to find something lost around the house is to buy it's replacement.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

There are two kinds of pedestrians: the quick and the dead.

      Life is sexually transmitted.

An unbreakable toy is useful for breaking other toys.

If quitters never win, and winners never quit, then who is the fool who said, "Quit while you're ahead?"

Health is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die.

The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.

Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.

Some people are like Slinkies . . .. not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs.

Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.

Have you noticed since everyone has a cam corder these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?

Whenever I feel blue, I start breathing again.

All of us could take a lesson from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Why does a slight tax increase cost you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?

In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

And the # 1 thought for the day:

You read about all these terrorists most of them came here legally, but they hung around on these expired visas, some for as long as 10 -15 years. Now, compare that to Blockbuster; you are two days late with a video and those people are all over you. Let's put Blockbuster in charge of immigration!!!

I'm 38 and I was a serious rough house when I was a kid. We would leave the house during the summer barefoot and be gone all day playing in the neighborhood and in the woods and shit. We would come home with bloody feet and be dirty as shit from head to toe, but we survived. We ran go carts and motorcycles into trees and lived to talk about it. I couldn't stand to be inside and I still hate television to this day...I never watch it....I still love doing most things outside. This generation is a pile of shit.

My family bought our first television in 1977 when I was 11 years old. I hardly watched any TV until I finished grad school and hardly watch any TV any more.

I used to come back from school at about 4:30pm or so, drop off my books, grab something to eat and go play with my friends till about 7pm. On the weekends we used to play all day. We rode our bikes all over the place and I can't remember a single kid who was overweight.

Now, when I take my 4 year old son to the playground (he loves the monkey bars), I hardly see any other kid around. I wonder where they all are - probably playing video games or watching TV. No wonder we have an obesity epidemic and health care spending is skyrocketing (just heard on NPR this morning driving in to work that health care spending has increased by 2-3X of inflation for the last few years).

I'm in the younger crowd at only 23, however a good deal of those things I have experienced, and I'm still here as well.

I do however, have several old friends that are no longer here for some things that could involve some of the ways of the past as well.

A bid thing where I grew up was the neighborhood park that had a dried up bayou. On the weekends 20+ kids would show up on their bikes and do stupid shit. Leave it to me to think I could out do anyone even being years younger than some of the kids. This ended up with hospital visits, stitches, broken bikes and all sorts of things. All because of 20 foot drop off on a bike, or a rope swing 15 feet above the ground that broke... but as soon as the pain stopped and the injuries healed, I was right back out there doing it.

I think about it a lot and my whole group of friends grew up in a different way than I see most kids today already. I spent my days in the woods, swimming in murky pounds, fucking with bees hives, and shooting compound bows, not to mention potatoe launches bottle rocket wars and all kinds of stuff. There have been a good deal of time that if something was just a little different I would be gone, but experiencing things like that makes you grow wiser a little quicker and gives you experience. Maybe thats why a lot of the 16 year old kids now or such punk ass's in my area.

Man, I'm only 22 and I've done alot of that stuff listed. I learned to ride a bike after getting I don't know how many bruises.

We are a dangerous breed  I couldn't even count the major bike accidents I've been through in just a few years of jumping ramps that evil knieveal would hesitate to jump, lol. We skateboarded down huge dirt hills doing handstands and stuff. Swam in the local creek which prolly contained PCBs and shit. Firecracker wars, crazy off-road bike races in which people frequently wiped out off of the paths into trees and each other, neigborhood vs neighborhood tackle football games like the kind on XFL, lol. Hell, a day when someone wasn't injured somehow was pretty rare. About the only thing that we didn't do was have unprotected sex with girls......but not for lack of trying though ;)

I think the area you grew up in makes a big difference. I did most that stuff growin up and so did most people I knew. This may be one way Texas is still last generation. My step brother's grew up where I'm at now in california and it seems alot different here. Partly because there isn't really any place secluded for kids to be kids.

I think we are worse off, with more people coming up without the same experience of sacrifice or work ethic. I will even say that in some ways I could fit into that category.
