my picks are:
Detroit -1
Really like them to come back strong at home here. They were very very close to being up 2-0 people, don't forget that. They showed they can hang/beat the Lakers at Staples. Their horrible overtime play can be attributed to the emotional blow they took from Kobe's 3 at the buzzer. They'll be regrouped and ready to play. Everyone appears to on the Luke Walton bandwagon, I'm telling you now...that wagon doesn't have wheels. They were caught off guard by his good play in game two, but they will account for him today. In their previous 2 series they've encountered step-up games from a few players (Scalabrine with NJ, and Croshere with Indy) and both times they made the necessary adjustments so I have no reason to think otherwise for this game. If Malone sits out...good, I say pound the ball inside with Rasheed all day long. Hamilton got his shot back which is huge for the offense. Detroit will make another statement here, saying the series is not over yet.
UNDER 169
Game two had a chance to stay under if not for the 54 point 3rd quarter, and the Lakers offensive explosion in the last minute of the game. However, I look for Detroit to continue to smother the Laker roleplayers. Defense wins, and Detroit plays some really good defense when at home with their home crowd behind them. I'll say it now, the Lakers will struggle to score 80 at the Palace today. Pistons naturally do not generate many points, so I look them to stick with their normal gameplan (defensive stops and ball control offense), it worked in game one and nearly again in game two.
For shits and giggles, my score prediction is Lakers 79 - Pistons 84
