  • New Job offer

I was just at a local bar where the bouncers made me laugh(they were all just tall thats all) and the owner asked me if I wanted to work there . Now right now I work 2 jobs and am free on weekends, but I think might be cool to be a bouncer. Do you guys think I should sacrifice my weekends for this job or what? It's 8 to 3 am friday to sunday. What do you all think?

If your single it's definatly the best job in the world. If not then it can be diffucult and drama filled. All depends on the situation. It does get old but it is a great memorable expierence.

I hated it when I did it. I was up till 5 oclock in the morning and I slept all weekend just to back to my regular job on monday. Plus I couldn't stand being around stupid drunk people all the time. LOL

Lots and lots of liability doing that..very easy to get sued because some fathead wants to be an ass and ends up getting sued-the club itself will only offer limited protection and more than likely if anything serious happens try and say you acted outside of guidelines....I have nice shit, I like my shit, and don't want some stain getting my shit because of some chippy suit..In my job I know lots of bouncers, and have done it, and its always da drama...

Bartenders make better money and are less involved with the bullshit that bouncers deal with. Personally, I think it is a shit job. No insurance and it only takes one drunken asshole to fuck up your life for good. A friend of mine lost his vision in his left eye, got a mangled ear and scars on his face from a stupid drunk with a beer bottle and revenge in mind...just because he was tossed out the week before.

Yeah I value my weekends too much, I think I'm gonna pass on it. 2 jobs is enough, I wouldn't be able to rest at all. Thanks for all the replies guys :)

dumbest job i've ever had, in reality there's little physical to do with it if you do it right, it's more talking to drunk assholes and stalling them until the police arrive and handle the dirty work. at least they have some legal protections. and if i'm not drunk and everyone around me is, they become really irritating really fast.
