  • Steroids on TV, dont want to miss it.

They are doing a story on the dangers of steroids and also about the boy who died. Some of you may remember his father on here posting about 5-6 months ago. Here is the story, set your Tivo!

The show will be on the foxnews channel. Check local listings.

Breaking Point: The Truth About Steroids

    Sunday, June 20 at 9 p.m ET and 12 a.m. ET
    Hosted by Brian Kilmeade

There have been a lot of stories about steroids in the news recently; most of them involve the controversy swirling around professional athletes.

But this "Breaking Point" investigation uncovered another side to the story that is far more troubling...

There are now about three million Americans taking steroids. Between 500,000 and one million of them are teenagers.

The downside goes well beyond cheating. In fact — for some families — it's become a matter of life and death.

The abuse of steroids is also moving beyond athletics. Many of the boys and girls taking these drugs are trying to achieve what they believe are perfect bodies.

Since steroids are illegal without a doctor’s prescription, how are they getting them?

"Breaking Point" went undercover to find out...

"The Truth About Steroids" is another in an important series of investigative documentaries brought to you by the staff of the Fox News Channel. Don't miss it!

lol. just like the only reason the kid killed himself is because of steroids. it couldnt have been anything else. i mean the kid was just perfectly normal before steroids right? a parent always seeks a cause because they can never admit that maybe they contributed to there childs death. if i remember correctly, this kid was under alot of pressure from his father with sports. this kid was mentally not all there and steroids may have taken him over the edge but it is definitly not the 1 cause of his death.

We should make up our own show and run it as an infomercial or a public service announcement. :D

If there are three million people on steroids and one kid killed himself, then there is a one in 3,000,000 chance of suicide according to Fox's own information.

There is a higher chance of dying from taking a Viagra or crossing the street.

:agree: if anything, the roids probably kept him from doing it earlier b/c of the good effects he was likely getting from them. Without them, who knows, he might have done it long ago when his dad was callin him a pussy.

I'm sure I am preaching to the choir here, but this kind of shit really, really pisses me off. I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't get high....at all (which kills how many millions of people a year??!?!) and I am a criminal because of AAS. I couldn't rant all f'n day long on the HYPOCRISY of this.

Does anyone know why steroids were made illegal in the first place? It probably was 1 kid back in the 80's who killed himself out of ignorance (darwanism at work friends) and now I gotta suffer for it. BS. Total BS.

I like Stromba's point. Just take a look at the suicides/violent incidences occuring in people taking Paxil...a legal script drug....and compare it to the one in 3,000,000 for steroids.

I think this aired already on a different newsfeed a few weeks ago. The dad says the kid got his stuff from a local guy at the Y where the kid worked out. Then they show him typing in "steroids" on a search page and up comes a million places where you can "EASILY" purchase online. Yeah like you wouldn't get scammed from those places.

Then they blame his suicide on his steroid use, they show pictures of him, he doesn't look like he even works out, they interview another kid and he admits they all used to shoot roids together, that guy looks like 120 lbs soaking wet.

Of course he wouldn't have committed suicide without steroids. I am sorry the guy committed suicide but to blame it only on roids is so wrong.

At least in online communities like this one we learn and educate our selves and others on the right and wrong ways to use steroids. Guaranteed the kid who comitted suicide didn't do any PCT. Steroids can be used wisely and they can be abused, just like any other substance, including food. More people die from complications of being overweight from simply eating too much bad foods but they're still legal. It all boils down to education and common sense.

It goes to show you that ignorance is rampant. The first grey area we don't understand is blamed for our personal fault. Someone needs to call the article "A child's breaking point: the truth about the social environment that drove him to suicide".
