WOW. I drove about 2000 miles roundtrip in this past week! First to Chicago and then to Minneapolis. Then back through Chicago to home. It was a very fun trip and I'm glad that I went. The only sucky part was that I had to drive it ALONE :( I got in a few hours ago and I'm too wired from coffee to fall asleep right now. I hardly ever drink coffee except for long drives, lol.
The traffic in Chicago during rush hour just sucks. It took about 1-1/2 hours just to get from the northwest part of the city to the eastern side and it just craaawled. Minneapolis is a fun city in the summertime. There's a lot of outdoor cafes where you can realx and have a drink (or three) and a nice dinner, all streetside. The fireworks over the Mississippi were awesome and the weather was nice. Lots of hotties in shorts and tank tops running around too
Although I had a great time on this trip, I don't think that I'll be driving that much again. What is cool though is that I received a call about a short term contract job that might lead to more work and I start on Monday. The timing is perfect because I didn't have to leave early to get home and I didn't have anything qued up anyhow for the beginning of the coming week anyhow, so it worked out nicely in that way. I missed hitting the weights though, as I hadn't worked out the week prior to leaving on my trip. I think that it was a good thing for me because now I feel enthusiastic again about training again!
Oh yeah, I have decided to............enter a small regional bodybuilding show around late summer next year :D Hopefully, I won't feel too uncomfortable with it by then and I'll have put on a decent amount of mass for it. I just have to get used to the idea of wearing the skivies onstage, lol. OK, I guess that I am getting tired after all so I'm hitting the hay. It's good to be back here and I missed everyone while I was away. I hope that you all had a great holiday weekend!
