I checked out that 'picture diary' awhile back...nice to see something like that in it's raw state, rather than a 'polished' version done by a professional journalist. It's amazing how much of this was covered up, or at least 'spun' to look less severe than it really was in the mainstream media.

Read "The Truth about Chernobyl" by Grigori Medvedev. The author was chief engineer at the nuclear plant when it was built in 1970. The book is a damning analysis of poor design, blatant mismanagement and cover up at all levels all the way up to the Soviet politburo. A must read.

-> OKAY, I WAS TAKEN FOR A RIDE
In April I wrote about an incredible Web site. It was created by a
Ukrainian motorcyclist named Elena. She allegedly took pictures of
a restricted area devastated by the nuclear accident in Chernobyl,
Ukraine. She claimed that her father was a physicist and she used his
pass to gain access to this area. The site is located at:
            http://www.kiddofspeed.com/

It turns out she didn't ride a motorcycle, her father isn't a physicist
and she wasn't alone! According to a story in the LA Times, the woman's
name is Lena Filatova. She and her husband took a tour of the
restricted area through a Kiev travel agency. Anyone can be given a
            similar tour: http://www.ukrcam.com

Handsome Harley Drew of WGAC, Augusta, Georgia fame told me about the
site first. So, I thought it would be appropriate for me to tell him it
was a con. I sent Harley an e-mail and he replied, "Well it read as
good as a best-selling novel! I loved it!" Harley is a very smart man.
He was the very first affiliate of my radio show years ago. Learn more
about him & tell him I said hello here:

Ya, thats where I got the link. Regardless of if the motor cycle happened or not, who the hell cares? They are still real pics and they still tell a scary story.

Scary shit. I remember that like it was yesterday.

Who know's how many people died unecessarily because of the fucking Soviet society. They covered it up.

It is amazing that they still have no idea how many people died.
