      Well,

It was a toss up between here and general chat and since this is where people talk and post pics of their vehicles etc. I thought it should go here. Figured I'd be wrong either way.

Yes, I have a VROD and yes they are sweet!

I love bikes man and have been thinking about a V-Rod. I hear they have a few problems like the seat being uncomfortable on long rides..always a matter of opinion..and the controls being hard to operate for shorter riders. I am 5'8, let me know if you think I would have any trouble.

IMHO, I love it. I'm 6' and do not feel uncomfortable at all. Like you said. The seat is a matter of opinion but I'm comfortable on it. The most I've ridden in a day is about 150 miles. Didn't have any problems. I have read taller people are uncomfortable and I could see that but I don't think 6' is all that tall.

What controls are you talking about? I don't think someone 5'8' is going to have a problem riding this thing.

I changed a lot on my bike. Chromed it out, drag bars, rims, and a new exhaust. If you get one, you have to change the exhaust to D&D 2 into 1. Awesome pipes and more horsepower. Went from 115hp to like 125hp. 0-60 in like 2.5 seconds. It runs like hell and virtually nil vibration.

If you are interested, go to your local HD dealer and take the demo out for a ride. You need a helmet and your edorsenment of course.

I can post some before and after pics when I get a chance. Pipes make a big difference. Cosmetically too. Opens up the wheel and also exposes more of the swingarm. You can see it in the pics.

Personally, I don't think you'd be disappointed but to each his own.

Sounds awesome man. I am talking about the forward controls. I heard that shorter riders may have trouble with them. I have a Vulcan Classic right now and am putting Vance and Hines Cruzers on it with some extra chrome, jetting the carb, K&N Filter etc. My wife wants this bike though and after I finish setting it up I am buying one for me. I really like the look of the V-Rod so I was glad to be able to ask some questions. Have you had any mechanical problems, oil consumption, leaks etc. Post some pics if and when you can.

I'll post some when I get back later on tonight.

As for the forward controls, I can't see where you'd have a problem but like I said that's just my opinion.

I totally agree. If you're a lawyer or Doctor and want to feel like a rebel then the Vrod is perfect. lol If you want fucking badass bike that really is mean and tough then build a chopper.

Yeah, the Vrod is Harleys version of the crotch rocket and it doesn't seem to have taken off like they thought it would- definitely nice bikes, but most traditional Harley riders aren't too crazy about them. I have a Fatboy custom with 12 inch apes that suits me- Vrods are to yuppyish for my taste, but to each his own.

Eventually Harley has to embrace the future. Nostalgia is great and I love the older style bikes, but many younger riders need something more up to date. The concept of the air-cooled engine is out of date. I admire Harley for having the courage and foresight to develop something new. They tried the never change anything path before and it led to them being bought by AMF. Talk about a piece of crap...get an AMF Harley and compare it to a V-Rod!

super fast but they are not well respected by the real biker types but who cares. also they have a real smooth sound like a japanese v-twin. they are still cool bike i rode my buddies back from the casino when he got wasted. incredible torque. but if you wanna fit in with the bikers go with an air cooled harley
