I'm wondering if any of you are pharmacists or are attending college right now to get your DoP? I am looking into pursuing it as a degree and have not really interacted with anyone that actually does it and/or has recently attending the schooling, and I'd also like to discuss this with people such as yourselves (bb interests and chemical enhancement). Don't get me wrong I am not looking into it because I want to make my own drugs and thats it, I am truly interested in pursuing as a career. I love chemistry and biology and attended advanced courses of it in H.S. I'm kind of interested in the R&D part of it because I like to experiment and learn about new things, but I have no quirks about working for a local pharmacy.......the pay is a bonus. If any of you are, I'd like to know if you are satisfied, why you chose it as a profession and how the schooling was. Also, what different opportunities are open (as far as variety of jobs and things). I would like to say that I am average to slightly above average intelligence, so go from there I guess. Thanks for any feedback.

Well...........we have a "doctor" of pharmacy in the family. And most any other real doctor looks at that title kinda like "doctor" of chiropractic. Anyway, the pay kicks ass and the work sucks ass. She works at a major chain and makes great money but the work is tedious and boring, but she was a bitch to begin with so it's tough to tell. LOL
Also, she was top of her class and got pretty much a full ride to a well respected state university for pre-med/pharm. The course work just about kicked her ass. Between the practicals, intern type rotations and chem she was struggling for a bit. So it's a tough program but demand is high and the pay is stable.Last edited by decadecadeca; 07-21-04, 11:11 PM.
