  • I officially feel my age today.

My friend called me saying she had 2 extra tickets to a Dave Matthews concert tonight. I was excited as he's one of my favorite artists. I ask her details and it winds up the tickets are $57 each, general admission, outside venue. I called my husband to see if he wanted to go but I said I wasn't hellbent on going since it's the middle of summer, it's gonna be hot, with all the rain we've had we'd be dealing with mosquittos, etc. He's got tickets to another concert at the same place tomorrow night but he's got seats, the lawn area is general admission and would suck being so far away and dealing with the stuff I mentioned. Plus, $57 for an outdoor event??? That's a bit high IMO. So I called my friend and said thanks for thinking of me but I was gonna pass. She was shocked as she knows how I love DMB. She's 23, I'm 38, I realized that my age was largely a factor in my decision. I don't like it! LOL This is the first time I've turned down a summer concert. Damn I feel OLD tonight!

On a good note, when I was in Costco tonight I picked up a DMB set, 2 cd's plus a DVD with a bunch of concert stuff and interviews, etc. I'm gonna watch it tonight in the comfort of my air conditioned home after I get out of the hot tub. :)

38!!!! OMG, you might drop dead any day now.

Comon now Mrs. P. That isn't too old. I just turned 36 a few days ago so I am not that far behind you. I think most women are the most attractive in their mid 30's. They have that refined mature beauty that the teenie boppers can't match.

Chin up; you know we love you. :)

Mrs. P....if it makes you feel any better, it's very possible age had little or nothing to do with your decision. Personally, I've always been one to avoid 'roughing it'. If I go to a concert, I want seats. If I'm going on vacation, a motel is as close to camping as I'm willing to get. I've been that way my whole life...teens and early twenties even. Nothing wrong with demanding comfort.

I'm 35 and I will rough it for a good show, but at the same time at my age I won't even invest in green bananas! Never know if I will be around to see them turn yellow!

You should have went, it was f'kn phenomenal. It is an outdoor event, but it's the new amphitheater so the seats are covered. The weather could not have been more perfect nor could the perfomance. If you have a chance to go to the West Palm show tonight, you should go. Last night's show was sold out here in Tampa, but you can still get real good seats for tonights WP show.

Last night when I was watching the DVD of him in concert I was really annoyed at myself for not having gone. I saw DMB about a year ago when they were here and it was one of the best performances I'd ever been to. I'm working today and tomorrow so no chance of me getting to West Palm.

Stromba's going to the ampitheater tonight for Rush. A friend flew in from Chicago for the show. They got good seats too!

I'm sure he will love it. Rush is a great band and the sound and video screen (w/effects) there is excellent. Did I tell you how awesome the show was?? lol..I've seen DMB 4 times and this was by far the best perfromance of them all. :D

I swear, if I ever get together with you I'm gonna pay you back for this! ;)

I love DMB and Rush, they are two of my favorite bands...DMB is a recent favorite, only knowing of them for about 5 yrs. but Rush is my favorite band since I was in H.S., 20 yrs. ago. Stromba planned a guys night with this show or else I'd have been there. As they were leaving I told them they sucked. LOL I'm so envious! I wound up meeting a g/f at a bar, it was so smokey we left and wen to Hoppers and had some mango beer and an appetizer. They were showing some Tyson interview stuff but even that sucked because they weren't showing the fight. Now I"m home, Stromba called me a few times so I could listen in on the concert but it was all garbled. I'm gonna go get undressed and hit the hottub. I need to relax.
