I've heard a lot of people being happy with Ambien.
I get insomnia from time to time (it has been the worst whenever I've been on cycle) and often soaking in a hot bath for about 20 minutes will help relax me so I can fall asleep. Also, Vallerian Root taken about an hour before bedtime helps a lot of people. If you open the capsules and make a tea out of it, less time is needed to feel it's effects.
i tried vallerian root a couple of times and it didnt do anything for me execpt give me nasty burps. i would defenately ask your doc about ambien. i swear by it now.
Melatonin really works for me. So much so that I have to split the pills to reduce the dosage. Otherwise, I would have trouble getting up and then would feel like I had a hangover in the morning. Also, I only use it occasionally.
And actually a small glass of milk warmed in the microwave works. This is really good for when I wake up in the middle of the night and have only 3 or 4 more hours to sleep.
LOL Xanax is great for short term use but even at that...if I take it 3 nights in a row I can't speak a complete sentence the following day. It does knock me out pretty well though, I don't know how people can take it during the day.
