  • The Hurricane is Comming right here....

99.999 Percent of the time living in Florida is a great thing.

    Not tomorrow

We are gonna get a direct hit from hurricane Charley tomorrow afternoon.

Looking at 100-140MPH winds. The most powerful storm to hit this area since 1921.

We have friends (and their pets) over because they have been ordered to evacuate. 1/2 million people have been ordered so far.

We live on higher ground (sort of). Our house only 4 years old and built to withstand 125mph winds. We will be testing the quality of construction tomorrow.

Tonite we are having a hurricane party.

I will try to take some video as long as I am not hiding under my couch.

    wish us luck

I thought Andrew was the more powerful one to hit or did it not hit around your area.

I was in Florida when Andrew was on its way. We evacuated and came back home, it was crazy.

A hurricane party? lol. Maybe you should lay off the alcohal for a night and board up your windows and make sure that anything that can fly is inside your house tightly secured.

Best of luck to you guys. From what I read, TB is going to get nailed.

IntesityX, Andrew did not hit Tampa Bay. They havent had a hurricane in 80 years.

We actually did not party at all.

Turns out the "safest" room in our house is a downstairs spare bedroom that I have been using as a giant storage closet for a year or so.

I have a big signed baseball and bat collection that I have to get out of my office upstairs.

We may have more friends comming over, they all have pets.

                  Great Dane
                  Pit Mix
                  Shephard
                  3 Cats

This is gonna be fun. NOT...

You forgot about the Shitsu. LOL

Our hurricane party consisted of food and one drink each and watching a movie, nothing wild. I taped up some of the downstairs windows (will finish the other windows today) and covered the piano with a plastic tarp and moved it towards the center of the room. All of the lawn stuff was brought in and today we'll bring in patio stuff. Watching the news this morning makes me very thankful that we built this house where we did, away from the water on higher ground. This should keep us safe from flooding but it's the severity of the winds that can be a problem here. The electric company is considering shutting off the electricity in certain areas. The news was showing some of the areas that they expect to be completely under water because of 12' storm surges, hopefully those people have listened to the warnings and get out safely. The 40mph+ winds should start around noon but the hurricane will be here from around 7 to 10pm.

OK...time to get breakfast going. I'm thinking some omlets. :)
